miR-20a-5p inhibition attenuates post-myocardial infarction ventricular remodeling in association with mTORC1/S6 signaling
Abstract Maladaptive ventricular remodeling is the major pathological process linking myocardial infarction (MI) to heart failure, yet its upstream molecular drivers remain incompletely defined. Extracellular vesicle (EV)-enriched microRNAs (miRNAs) are emerging regulators of intercellular communication and cardiac pathology. This study investigated the association of miR-20a-5p with post-MI remodeling and mTORC1/S6-related signaling.
SCF JFK regulates osteoblast differentiation through targeting RUNX2
|
Abstract RUNX2 (Runt-related transcription factor 2) is a master regulator of osteogenesis, and its genetic mutations are associated with ~65% cases of cleidocranial dysplasia (CCD), an autosomal dominant abnormal bone development disorder in humans with defective intramembranous bone formation. However, how these mutations affect bone formation remains to be investigated.

Left atrial function and stiffness in HFpEF patients with and without paroxysmal atrial fibrillation: associations with PAF and clinical outcomes
Abstract Although the left atrium (LA) plays a pivotal role in the pathophysiology and progression of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), the impact of atrial fibrillation (AF) on LA function and stiffness in this population remains incompletely understood. Moreover, the prognostic significance of LA functional parameters has not been fully elucidated in patients with HFpEF.

A robust high-performance H 2 S sensor enabling real-world wireless monitoring
Abstract Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a highly toxic and corrosive gas that requires continuous, real-time monitoring at ultra-low concentrations in complex environments. Here we report a wireless, ultra-low-power H2S sensing platform for long-term, on-site detection. The device achieves a response exceeding 10,000%, a calculated detection limit of 0.328 ppb, and a 7 s response at room temperature, while consuming less than 0.7 μW.
Hip Arthroscopy During Female Menstruation: A Retrospective Analysis of Safety and Clinical Outcomes With 24-Month Follow-Up
1 Introduction Menstruation is a physiological process regulated by cyclic fluctuations of estrogen and progesterone [1]. During this phase, circulating hormone levels reach their nadir, accompanied by physiological changes such as enhanced fibrinolytic activity and subtle alterations in coagulation factors. Additionally, the decline in these hormones may heighten pain perception, potentially impacting postoperative analgesic requirements and rehabilitation adherence.

Post-ENSO 2024 mass bleaching and early signs of resilience in Pachyseris speciosa dominated reefs of Raja Ampat, Indonesia
Abstract Marine heatwaves associated with El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO) events are a primary driver of mass coral bleaching, threatening reef ecosystems globally. This study documents a severe mass bleaching event in December 2024 on the reefs of Yenbuba, Raja Ampat, Southwest Papua, Indonesia, following the 2024 ENSO, and assesses subsequent changes within one year.
Glucocorticoids elevate clear cell renal cell carcinoma sensitivity to HIF-2α inhibitors by suppressing H4K12 lactylation
|
Abstract Approximately 70% of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) patients harbor von Hippel‒Lindau (VHL) deficiency, which drives pseudohypoxia and metabolic reprogramming. Here, we report a histone H4 lysine 12 lactylation (H4K12la)-fueled phosphoglycerate kinase 1 (PGK1)-lactate positive feedback loop that sustains glycolytic flux in VHL-deficient ccRCC and is pharmacologically disruptable by glucocorticoids.

Predictable evolution towards larger brains and lower hand‐wing indices in long‐tailed birds
1 INTRODUCTION The evolution of long tails in birds has been one of the most intensely studied topics in animal ornamentation research, and a long tail is often explained by Darwin's hypothesis of sexual selection (Darwin, 1872; Pryke et al., 2001; Romano et al., 2017).

Orbital hybridization in graphene-based artificial atoms - Nature
Abstract Intra-atomic orbital hybridization and interatomic bond formation are the two fundamental processes when real atoms are condensed to form matter1,2. Artificial atoms mimic real atoms by demonstrating discrete energy levels attributable to quantum confinement3,4,5,6,7,8. As such, they offer a solid-state analogue for simulating intra-atomic orbital hybridization and interatomic bond formation.

Multicilia dynamically transduce Shh signaling to regulate choroid plexus functions
Abstract Choroid plexus is a major site for cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production, characterized by a multiciliated epithelial monolayer that regulates CSF production. We demonstrate that defective choroid plexus ciliogenesis or Intraflagellar transport yields neonatal hydrocephalus, at least in part, due to increased water channel Aqp1 and ion transporter Atp1a2 expression. We demonstrate choroid plexus multicilia as sensory cilia, transducing both canonical and non-canonical Shh signaling.

Ideal comfort ellipses and comfort dynamics model for mitigating motion sickness in battery electric vehicle
Abstract Due to the rapid response and high torque output of the electric motor, drivers and passengers in battery electric vehicles are more prone to dizziness. This is particularly challenging for mitigating motion sickness, as acceleration performance conflicts with ride comfort. In this article, we develop ideal comfort ellipses based on various driving cycles, which show a comfort zone for driving.

Effect of Mn Doping on the Photovoltaic Properties of Multiferroic Composite Nanowire Arrays
Effect of Mn Doping on the Photovoltaic Properties of Multiferroic Composite Nanowire Arrays The lead-free inorganic perovskite metal oxide, BiFeO3 (BFO), presents promising potential for photovoltaic applications within solar cells. However, its limited light absorption and carrier mobility constrain the enhancement of its photovoltaic conversion efficiency (PCE). Therefore, in this study, Mn was doped into BiFeO3 to form Bi(Fe,Mn)O3 (BFMO), which reduced the band gap of BFO.
