Synergistic mineralization and long-term viability of a multi-component microbial system for crack self-healing in cementitious materials
Abstract Microbial mineralization promotes the self-healing of concrete cracks, extending structural service life. However, harsh conditions within concrete hinder the long-term viability and self-healing potential of microorganisms. While Bacillus strains are commonly used to deposit calcium carbonate on crack surfaces, their aerobic nature presents challenges in complex environments.

Responses of host energy status, intestinal structure and gut microbiota during post-hibernation recovery in high- and low-altitude populations of the plateau frog Rana kukunoris
Abstract Background: Hibernation is an important seasonal strategy that enables amphibians to cope with low temperature and food scarcity. However, how high- and low-altitude amphibian populations differ in host energy status, digestive system structure and gut microbiota during post-hibernation recovery remains insufficiently understood.
Ice flood disaster risk assessment of the Inner Mongolia reach in the Yellow River based on unascertained measure theory-variable fuzzy sets

Bearing characteristics and influence mechanism of lightweight and high-strength arch in deep roadway
Abstract Deep underground engineering often faces complex conditions such as high stress and extremely soft rock. Due to the problems of heavy self-weight, insufficient bearing capacity and low construction efficiency, the traditional steel arch cannot meet the requirements of safe and efficient construction of underground engineering in deep and complex conditions.
Ultramorphology and chaetotaxy insights into the larval defensive adaptations of Fentonia ocypete (Lepidoptera: Notodontidae)
ABSTRACT Larvae of Notodontidae employ diverse antipredator strategies, yet research has largely overlooked early instars. In this study, the ultramorphology and chaetotaxy of first-instar Fentonia ocypete were analysed, yielding new evidence for its defensive adaptations and systematic placement. The first-instar larvae of F.
Adaptive management for improving livestock production and grassland conservation in pastoral Qinghai, China - Humanities and Social Sciences Communications
Abstract Balancing grassland conservation with livestock production often involves trade-offs, yet synergy can be achieved through strategic adjustments in herder behaviors for livestock husbandry, particularly in regions dominated by traditional extensive grazing practices where investigations into optimal solutions that reconcile ecological and economic benefits remain limited.
Hexafluorophosphate‐Modulated CuO for Selectivity Enhancement of C2 Species in Electroreduction of CO2
1 Introduction The rapid industrialization in the past decades has led to a dramatic increase in emission of carbon dioxide (CO2), exacerbating global warming [1, 2]. Concurrently, the depletion of fossil fuels has necessitated the exploration of alternative clean energy sources. Electroreduction of CO2 (CO2ER), which converts atmospheric CO2 into fuels, represents a promising strategy to address both environmental and energy challenges [3-5].

Prevention of cancer initiation by augmenting MHC-I antigen presentation via EZH2 inhibition - Oncogene
Abstract Early intervention of precancers is significant for improving cancer outcome. EZH2-mediated epigenetic modification was responsible for the immune escape of cancers; besides, tumor immune evasion is correlated with the impaired MHC-I antigen presentation machinery (APM). Oral potentially malignant disorders (OPMDs), represented by oral leukoplakia (OLK), usually precede head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).
An Adaptive and Secure Resource Management Architecture for Virtualized FPGAs
FPGAs are highly promising for robotics due to their parallel and reconfigurable nature, making them ideal for demanding tasks such as perception, control, and path planning. However, the limited resources of mobile embedded systems face severe challenges when processing complex missions. Virtualization and dynamic partial reconfiguration technology enable the system to flexibly manage and reconfigure hardware resources according to task properties.

Access control and security analysis of shared accelerators with hardware-level scheduling
Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) have increasingly become important technical support for complex computing requirements in the embedded domain due to their configurability and high performance. FPGA virtualization enables multiple tasks or operating systems to share hardware resources effectively. However, the possibility of resource-sharing also brings potential computing security risks.
Sanguinarine-induced proteomic changes in Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus
Abstract The escalating threat of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections, coupled with the dwindling efficacy of current antibiotics, highlights the urgent need for novel antimicrobial agents. In this study, we demonstrate that sanguinarine—a plant-derived benzophenanthridine alkaloid—exerts potent antibacterial activity against MRSA, with a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 20 mg/L.
Machine-learning-aided screening of inorganic lithium solid-state electrolytes with wide electrochemical window
Machine-learning-aided screening of inorganic lithium solid-state electrolytes with wide electrochemical window We construct an electrochemical window (ECW) dataset of over 16,000 Li-containing compounds using a thermodynamic approach for solid-state electrolytes (SSEs). A data-driven ECW prediction framework is developed, with the classification model achieving > 0.98 accuracy and the regression model yielding mean absolute errors of 0.19/0.21 V for the left/right ECW limits.
The R&D and sharing of emission reduction technology with uncertainty and carbon tax under inter-chain competition
As global warming continues to worsen, the goal of carbon emission reduction has become an international consensus, and reducing emissions is a major challenge for countries worldwide. The European Conference voted to adopt the Emission Trading Scheme, while China proposed a “dual carbon target,” aiming to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060. According to statistics, 151 countries worldwide announced their carbon neutrality targets by the end of May 2024.

Delta-radiomics Analysis Based on Multi-phase Contrast-enhanced MRI to Predict Early Recurrence in Hepatocellular Carcinoma After Percutaneous Thermal Ablation
It is critical to predict early recurrence (ER) after percutaneous thermal ablation (PTA) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We aimed to develop and validate a delta-radiomics nomogram based on multi-phase contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to preoperatively predict ER of HCC after PTA. We retrospectively enrolled 164 patients with HCC and divided them into training, temporal validation, and other-scanner validation cohorts (n = 110, 29, and 25, respectively).

A redundant chloroplast protein is co-opted by potyvirids as the scaffold protein to mediate viral intercellular movement complex assembly
Abstract For viruses in the family Potyviridae (potyvirids), three virus-encoded proteins (P3N-PIPO, CI and CP) and several host components are known to coordinately regulate viral cell-to-cell movement. Here, we found that HCPro2 encoded by areca palm necrotic ring spot virus is involved in the intercellular movement, which could be functionally complemented by its counterpart HCPro from a potyvirus.
