While the National Weather Service in Paducah tracked more than 60 tornadoes in total, three very intense weather periods stand out: March 14-15 April 2 May 16 According to NWS Paducah, of the 63 total tornadoes that hit the region in 2025, 48 happened on those dates.

In this work, we explore the contributions of cell type–specific activity and synaptic connections to the dynamics of a spatially organized spiking neuron network.

Good evening, Heartland, we are continuing to see drier and cooler weather across the region. Tonight, expect temperatures to be in the low 80s and upper 70s before sundown. Overnight, we will see temperatures continue to cool, with lows on Tuesday being below average in the low 60s. Mostly sunny skies are expected by the afternoon with highs in the mid 80s, a light breeze from the north, and low humidity for this time of year. These cooler conditions are going to continue through Thursday.
