American Stage is finishing up its season on a higher note than even Mariah Carey could hit with its production of Katori Hall's Pulitzer Prize winning comedy, The Hot Wing King. Directed by Kenny Moten, the play sees four queer Black men as they prepare for a chicken wing competition in Memphis, Tennessee. But it becomes about so much more than that. At its heart, The Hot Wing King is about family - not only the chosen family that is built but the obligations that come with it.
