SEVERN, Md. — A Severn woman says she knew something was off almost immediately when a man called claiming to be from the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office, because he couldn't pronounce the names of places she has called home for nearly 40 years. Nadine O'Drain picked up the call because it came from an Annapolis number. "Why I answer those Annapolis calls is because my doctor's office. I don't have her in there in her name," O'Drain said.

CATONSVILLE, Md. — After nine crashes into one Catonsville homeowner's yard in two years, Baltimore County says the road now qualifies for speed humps. But before they can be installed, the homeowner must rally support from her neighbors. Krista Cantafio, who lives along the sharp curve on Kenwood Avenue near Wilkens Avenue, will need to collect signatures from 75 percent of the property owners within the project limits before the county can move forward.

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration recently launched its "Plate Where You Live" campaign, alerting drivers to increased enforcement penalties beginning October 1.
