WEST BEND, Wis. — A community garden in West Bend is growing more than vegetables — it's growing a network of neighbors committed to feeding people who need it most, and its founders want the secret to get out. The Washington County Community Garden, founded by Mary Reilly-Klyss in 2007, has grown to 75 plots. Some of those plots are dedicated to growing fresh vegetables for locals experiencing homelessness, senior centers and food pantries.

HARTFORD, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) issued a formal warning to a Hartford Kwik Trip after the store raised its fuel prices more than once within a 24-hour period — a violation of state law. The warning letter, dated April 13, 2026, was sent to Kwik Trip, Inc.'s Petroleum Department at its La Crosse headquarters. It states the violations occurred on January 5 and January 6, 2026, at the store located at 1411 E. Sumner Street in Hartford.

For devoted visitors and the hundreds of thousands who follow the zoo's journey on social media, the loss has been heartbreaking. Vanessa Mackay drove up from Chicago to see the four baby cubs born at the zoo in August. She was emotional when she learned of Ginger's passing.
