ORANGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A horse in Orange County has tested positive for West Nile Virus on Thursday. On Thursday, Sept. 25, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) confirmed that a horse stabled in Orange County tested positive for West Nile Virus. Officials said the unvaccinated gelding quarter horse was tested after showing neurological symptoms. The animal, which is reportedly showing signs of improvement, is being quarantined on the property.
