DeWitt man killed in crash at West Michigan racetrack

GRATTAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (News 10) - A 39-year-old man from DeWitt was killed after a motorcycle crash in Kent County. It happened at the Grattan Raceway around 3:15 p.m. Sunday. According to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office, the man was participating in an opening riding event when he was involved in a crash on the track. Despite life-saving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office said the man was wearing a helmet and protective riding gear.

Road blocked in Lansing for police investigation

LANSING, Mich. (News 10) - A portion of Moores River Drive in Lansing is closed for a police investigation. Lansing Police were called to the 2700 block of Moores River Drive around 3 a.m. Friday. The road is closed between Waverly and Cambridge Roads. Lansing Police confirmed officers are investigating a possible shooting. News 10 is working to learn more.

Ingham Intermediate School District’s $100m bond proposal passes

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - A $99.9 million school bond proposal for the Ingham Intermediate School District was approved by voters in Tuesday’s Special Election. The bond passed with 54.4% of the vote. VIEW FULL ELECTION RESULTS HERE The money will bring improvements to aging special education facilities, including the Beekman Center and the Heartwood School, to improve safety, accessibility, and student engagement.
