ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - This weekend, food, clothes, art and antiques are all available at the Vintage Market Days Event in downtown Alexandria. The market opened up inside the Randolph Riverfront Center on Friday and will reopen for day two on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m.. Families can walk around, talk with artisanal craftsmen or try a free samples from the different food vendors.

Cenla reacts after USPS raises price of Forever Stamp

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Starting Sunday, July 12, a ‘forever stamp’ from the United States Postal Service will cost a bit more money. The price of a forever stamp price is rising by 4¢, from $0.78 to $0.82. International postcards and international letters are also increasing by 5¢, from $1.70 to $1.75. KALB spoke with residents at a few post offices in Alexandria to see how they felt about the price jump. Some, like Antionette Broussard, said the price already felt too high.

Malcolm Larvadain announces run for Alexandria mayor

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - On July 7, Alexandria City Councilman Malcolm Larvadain announced he is running for mayor. The announcement came at the Hotel Bentley. Larvadain is a local attorney and currently represents District 1 on the city council. He was elected to that seat in 2024. He joins local businessman Lorenzo Davis, Sr. in the November 3 race. Current Mayor Jacques Roy has not publicly announced if he is seeking re-election. Click here to report a typo.
