The unique food pantry on NW Front Avenue and NW 17th is set up like a grocery store, allowing guests to choose groceries that best fit their household needs. There is also a second location on Stark Street near 122nd Avenue.

More layoffs, cuts expected as TriMet considers updated budget with rising costs

(KPTV) - More layoffs and budget cuts are coming to TriMet as the agency announced it’s updating its budget with costs continuing to rise. The revised budget cuts spending by about $64.5 million for the 2027 fiscal year, which starts on July 1, 2026. It includes about 170 layoffs of both union and non-union workers. Those cuts are just a fraction of what the agency needs to balance the budget.

Urban Gleaners park market brings fresh food to SE Portland community

(KPTV) - An organization called Urban Gleaners collects food that would otherwise go to waste and distributes it at various locations in the Portland metro area through park markets. At the corner of Southeast 88th Avenue and Southeast Steele Street in Lents Park, residents gather each Thursday at noon as more than a hundred people line up for the Urban Gleaners park market.
