WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ohio (WTAP) - A Washington County cleanup and remediation project will receive $1 million in state funding, Gov. DeWine announced today. The Southeastern Ohio Port Authority is receiving the funding for a project called Coal Ash at the Muskingum River Industrial Park. The project will remediate coal combustion residuals and coal ash at the former Muskingum River Plant, excavating and managing impacted materials to meet modern environmental standards.
