American Immigration Policy Could Learn From Modern Italy, Ancient Rome, and Plato
New winds are shaping conversations about citizenship in the U.S. and Europe. As the U.S. Supreme Court weighs the Trump administration’s constitutional argument for tighter birthright citizenship, Italy’s Constitutional Court has already signed off on a law raising the bar for would-be citizens. Italy’s rationale is instructive for the U.S., whose prow seems pointed toward consequences the Italian government is now trying to correct.

3 Ways to Spark Worldview Conversations with Your Kids in the New “Transformers One” (and Countless Other Movies)
As an executive pushing 40, a husband of 17 years, and a father of four saved sinners aged 7 to 14 years, I find myself in a season of life in which my tolerance for weak-minded, hollow movies is at an all-time low. That’s not snobbery (although that shoe may fit); it’s selfish pragmatism tinged with love and duty.

On the same day the nation elects the next president of the United States, Californians will vote on a ballot proposal that would impose a $1.6 billion tax increase on e-cigarettes and other vaping products, and all the circular reasoning that goes with it. She chirps a handful of questions to make sure the wife’s file is current. As she scrolls down on her oversized computer monitor to verify the wife’s insurance information, the couple waits for the penny to drop. And there it is. “But … it says here you’re self-pay,” the receptionist says, her smile gone.
Yakima River, WA
Once in a while, revisiting something old to find out something new is worthwhile. In the case of the Yakima River, Washington’s only true-blue catch-and-release fishery, the combined elements of salmon, high water, habitat, and hatches merit a closer look. The Yakima River—or “Yak,” as locals call it—displays multiple personalities (some might add “disorders” to complete the phrase). The Yak can be very kind to anglers at times and relentlessly cruel at others.

I, Too, Owe My Conversion to Billy Graham
Churches were divided. Believers eschewed cultural influence. Liberal modernism was on the move. Then God made Billy Graham. News - Arizona Considers Dental Therapy Bill
A bill that would authorize dental therapists in Arizona is under consideration in the state’s Senate Committee on Health and Human Services. The committee, chaired by state Sen. Nancy Barto (R-Phoenix), heard testimony on Senate Bill 1377 (S.B. 1377) on February 7. Dental therapists are similar to primary-care nurse practitioners, providing a limited set of services.
