Dual-branch feature fusion with a target backscattering intensity prior for terahertz radar target detection
Terahertz (THz) radar detection is typically based on raw reflectivity maps, from which some physical information is inevitably lost. Target backscattering intensity (TBI) offers more intuitive physical features, but its sparse and irregular distribution prevents direct use in standard convolutional detectors. Here, we propose a local outlier factor (LOF) algorithm to convert sparse TBI measurements into a saliency map and effectively highlight candidate targets.

Persistence and adherence to tepotinib in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer: a real-world evidence study including dose reductions
ABSTRACT Aim This study evaluated the real-world persistence, adherence, treatment discontinuation, and dose reduction of tepotinib in patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Methods This exploratory, retrospective study used McKesson’s Biologics Specialty Pharmacy shipment data (10 February 2021–07 April 2025). Adults ≥50 years with NSCLC receiving tepotinib were included.
Selective photoacoustic handling of microparticles via annular laser beams
Abstract Precise manipulation of bioparticles in micro- and nano-fluidic environments is crucial for applications in cancer diagnostics, drug delivery, and single‑cell analysis. Despite the optical and acoustic tweezers provide high accuracy and stability, their flexibility and selectivity are often constrained by factors such as laser‑induced heating, reliance on the optical properties of target particles, and the labor‑ and time‑intensive fabrication of interdigital transducers (IDTs).

Dynamic neuronal ensembles encode burst-suppression revealed by cortex-wide optical-electrical interfaces
Abstract Burst suppression is widely observed across cortical regions during reversible or pathological unconsciousness, yet its neuronal organization remains incompletely understood. Here we present an integrated Cortex-wide Optical-electrical Dual-modal Explorer (CODE) system to examine neuronal dynamics during burst suppression under isoflurane anesthesia in the mouse.
A cough sound-based deep learning algorithm for accessible prompt detection of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with smartphones
|
Abstract Early COPD diagnosis is vital for effective management, yet conventional tools such as professional spirometers are often inaccessible in resource-limited settings. We present Cough Search, a smartphone-based deep learning algorithm that uses voluntary cough sounds to detect COPD, offering a cost-efficient and accessible diagnostic approach. The presented COPD detection algorithm (Cough Search) employs a transformer-based neural network model.

How Does Investor Climate Change Concern Affect Corporate ESG Performance? Evidence From Textual Analysis
1 Introduction Climate change has emerged as a source of economic and financial risk, reshaping corporate behavior, asset pricing, and long-term firm value (Pástor et al. 2021; Pankratz et al. 2023). As physical and transition risks intensify, capital markets increasingly function as key channels through which climate change-related pressures are transmitted to firms.

Graphene metasurface for dynamic controlling transmission and group delay of terahertz wave
Abstract Dynamically controlling transmission and group delay of terahertz (THz) wave is of great significance for slow light, switching and memory. However, the device with large tunable group delay is still a challenge. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate a graphene metasurface for dynamically controlling the transmission and group delay of THz waves. Each meta-atom of the device is made up of an II-shaped resonator and two metal bars, penetrated by a graphene ribbon.

Structure-informed design of an ultrabright RNA-activated fluorophore - Nature Chemistry
Abstract RNA-based fluorogenic aptamers, such as Mango, are uniquely powerful tools for imaging RNA that activate the fluorescence of a weakly or non-fluorescent small molecule when bound. A central challenge has been to develop brighter, more specific and high-affinity aptamer–ligand systems for cellular imaging. Here we report an ultrabright fluorophore for the Mango II system discovered using a structure-informed, fragment-based small-molecule microarray approach.

Machine Learning Informs RNA‐Binding Chemical Space
Abstract Small molecule targeting of RNA has emerged as a new frontier in medicinal chemistry, but compared to the protein targeting literature our understanding of chemical matter that binds to RNA is limited. In this study, we reported Repository Of BInders to Nucleic acids (ROBIN), a new library of nucleic acid binders identified by small molecule microarray (SMM) screening.

Salt Resistance as a Measure of the Strength of Polyelectrolyte Complexation
When mixed, solutions of positive and negative polyelectrolytes may spontaneously phase-separate into blended, hydrated complexes or coacervates (PECs). Charge-pairing interactions between oppositely-charged polyelectrolytes within PECs are weakened with the addition of salt MA. With a sufficiently high concentration of MA, the PEC may dissociate back into the individual polyelectrolytes, reversing the liquid–liquid phase separation induced by charge pairing and other interactions.
Incidence of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders in China: a large cohort study using claim data
Discussion Based on a large cohort including 177 million people followed for 2 years, we identified 1313 newly diagnosed NMOSD cases, and the incidence of NMOSD in Chinese adults was estimated as 0.41 per 100 000 person-years. Although the literature indicated that NMOSD is more common in the Asian population, there was only one recent epidemiological study (Tian et al 2020)18 in China presenting an incidence of 0.347 per 100 000 person-years in adults.
Real-world treatment patterns and outcomes in PD-L1-positive non-small cell lung cancer
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the USA with an estimated 131,880 deaths in 2021 [1]. Approximately 84% of patients with lung cancer have non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) [2], with the majority of cases diagnosed being locally advanced, inoperable or metastatic [1].

Glass Transitions in Hydrated Polyelectrolyte Complexes
The spontaneous association of oppositely charged natural or synthetic polyelectrolytes in solution has evoked a great deal of interest from chemical, physical, and biological perspectives. The polymer-dense phases resulting from this phase separation are termed polyelectrolyte complexes or coacervates, PECs. PECs exhibit a range of properties and morphologies, from liquidlike to solidlike states.
Pathogenic Virus Detection by Optical Nanobiosensors
Summary The novel coronavirus pandemic is sweeping the world and causing global crises. The lack of effective methods of early diagnosis and accurate detection may result in severe infection as well as mortality. Therefore, it is urgently required that rapid, selective, and accurate techniques for detecting pathogenic viruses are developed.
Tannic Acid/Mg2+ Based Versatile Coating to Manipulate Osteoimmunomodulation of Implants
Tannic Acid/Mg2+ Based Versatile Coating to Manipulate Osteoimmunomodulation of Implants Instead of directly stimulating osteogenesis, endowing implant surface with favorable osteoimmunomodulatory (OIM) function has emerged as a new effective strategy to enhance osteointegration. Though metal-phenolic coatings have been demonstrated to possess immunomodulatory function, their potential application of manipulating osteoimmune response has not been well explored.
Precision Doping of Polyelectrolyte Complexes: Insight on the Role of Ions
The properties of polyelectrolyte complexes and coacervates, both termed PECs, are influenced strongly by their ion and water content. Water plasticizes PECs, reducing their modulus and glass transition temperature, Tg. In this work, a hydrated PEC with a Tg near room temperature, made from poly(diallyldimethylammonium) (PDADMA) and poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) was precisely doped with 22Na-labeled sodium salts along a Hofmeister series.
