MONROE, La. (KNOE) - On December 14, 2019, Joe Burrow won the Heisman trophy. He had played three years as an Ohio State Buckeye when he transferred to LSU. That year he led the Tigers to the college football national playoff championship. Burrow finished that year as a first overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Sterlington is once again Division III non-select state champions. The Panthers beat Jena 34-20 Friday afternoon to bring another title back home. The Panthers scored 27 straight second half points after trailing 12-7 at halftime to seal the win. Senior linebacker Tre Burch had a pick six with five minutes left in the 4th quarter to put the Panthers out of reach.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The city of Monroe plans to open a warming station in response to forecasted low temperatures expected Sunday. The Warming station will be located at Liller Maddix Marbles Community Center, at 290 Renwick Street. It will open at 10 a.m. Sunday, December 14, 2025, and will remain operational while cold weather conditions persist. The facility will be equipped with cots, Meals Ready-to-Eat (MREs) and water.
