Advances in Plant-Based Cream Preparation Technology and Quality Formation Mechanisms
Plant-based cream is an important alternative to dairy products, gaining increasing attention for its health and nutritional benefits. Its primary components include plant proteins (such as soy protein and pea protein), plant oils, water, and emulsifiers. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms underlying the formation of plant-based cream quality can help regulate its quality characteristics through structural and functional properties.
Group-aware and position-interactive learning for point cloud robust segmentation in subterranean environments
Abstract In heavily occluded underground scenarios such as coal mine roadways, high-precision 3D perception plays an essential role in infrastructure inspection, disaster prevention and control. However, existing general-purpose point cloud semantic segmentation methods suffer from poor generalization robustness in underground environments, due to challenges including blurred boundaries, strong noise interference, and highly repetitive structural patterns.
A generic, rapid and robust platform for personalized functional circuit-guided neuromodulation targeting
Abstract Neuromodulation approaches can target specific brain functional circuits to treat various brain disorders, and resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging is increasingly being used to map functional circuits in individual patients for target localization.
Intestinal malrotation combined with superior mesenteric artery syndrome: a case report
Abstract Background: Intestinal malrotation (IM) is a developmental anomaly of the intestine characterized by abnormal rotation of the midgut around the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) axis. This condition is more prevalent in children under 1 year of age. Superior mesenteric artery syndrome (SMAS) is a rare disorder caused by a decreased angle between the abdominal aorta (AA) and the SMA, leading to compression of the horizontal segment of the duodenum.

Pretreatment drug resistance profiles and transmission dynamics of HIV-1 among adults aged ≥50 in Hebei Province, China
Abstract Background: In China, the proportion of HIV-infected individuals aged ≥50 is rapidly increasing, yet limited research has focused on HIV transmission dynamics in this population. We investigated pretreatment drug resistance (PDR) and molecular transmission networks among older adults with HIV-1 in Hebei Province. Methods: From 2022 to 2025, 334 newly confirmed, ART-naïve HIV-1-infected individuals aged ≥50 with successful pol gene amplification were included.
Disruption of tRNA threonylation triggers RIG-I mediated anti-tumour immune response - Nature Communications
|
Abstract Tumour-induced mechanisms of immune evasion hinder immune response to cancer, particularly in melanoma. mRNA translation, by ensuring accurate protein synthesis, regulates cancer phenotypes and immune response, but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.

Building Critical Geographers: Academic Social Media as a Relational Pedagogical Interface
Abstract This commentary argues for reconceptualizing academically-curated social media platforms (ASMPs) as relational pedagogical interfaces to foster critical thinking in geography education. Using the case of Barbecue Geographers—an influential geography-focused platform in China—we illustrate how such an interface creates a synergistic ecosystem. For instructors, it acts as a dynamic resource to democratize disciplinary frontiers and restructure pedagogical authority.

Exploring essential digital competencies for gerontological social workers: A case study in China
ABSTRACT In today’s digital society, digital competence is crucial for gerontological social workers (GSWs) to support the well-being of older adults and promote professional development. However, there remains a significant gap in understanding what essential digital competencies GSWs should have. This case study aims to explore the essential digital competencies for GSWs based on the DigComp 2.2 framework.
Boosting the Hydroformylation Activity of Polyoxometalate-Anchored Rh Single Atom Catalysts in Toluene-Water Media
Boosting the Hydroformylation Activity of Polyoxometalate-Anchored Rh Single Atom Catalysts in Toluene-Water Media In this work, the water-soluble single atom Rh substituted polyoxometalates (POMs) catalysts were constructed. The further 31P NMR, FT-IR, ICP-analysis, ESI-MS and HAADF-STEM characterization showed that Keggin-type or Dawson-type Rh-substituted POMs were constructed by a reaction of mono-lacunary POMs with RhCl3.
Unveiling the global impact of hypertensive heart disease among individuals aged ≥ 65 years: metabolic risk factors and future projections for 2050
ORIGINAL RESEARCH article Volume 12 - 2025 | https://doi.org/10.3389/fnut.2025.1611078 1 Introduction Hypertension, defined as systolic/diastolic blood pressure ≥140/90 mm Hg, is a major global risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and a leading cause of DALYs (1–3). The worldwide population is aging rapidly; the proportion of individuals aged 60 and above increased from 9.2% in 1990 to 11.7% in 2013, and is projected to reach 21.1% by 2050 (4).

Cryo-EM structure and molecular mechanism of the jasmonic acid transporter ABCG16 - Nature Plants
Abstract Jasmonates (JAs) are a class of oxylipin phytohormones including jasmonic acid (JA) and derivatives that regulate plant growth, development and biotic and abiotic stress. A number of transporters have been identified to be responsible for the cellular and subcellular translocation of JAs. However, the mechanistic understanding of how these transporters specifically recognize and transport JAs is scarce.

The balance between nuclear import and export of NLRC5 regulates MHC class I transactivation
Abstract MHC (major histocompatibility complex) class I molecules play an essential role in regulating the adaptive immune system by presenting antigens to CD8 T cells. CITA (MHC class I transactivator), also known as NLRC5 (NLR family, CARD domain-containing 5), regulates the expression of MHC class I and essential components involved in the MHC class I antigen presentation pathway.

Insulating Electrets Converted from Organic Semiconductor for High‐Performance Transistors, Memories, and Artificial Synapses
Electrets are commonly used charged insulators that generate a quasi-permanent electric field. However, when conventional electrets come into direct contact with semiconductors, the energy level mismatch at the interface results in low memory speed and high energy consumption of electret devices due to both charge injection and storage being non-conducive.

Autophagy in peritoneal fibrosis
1 Introduction To date, more than 2 million people suffer from end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and this prevalence continues to increase year by year, leading to a significant economic burden (Howell et al., 2019; Masola et al., 2022). More than 272,000 patients, approximately 11% of the dialysis population, undergo peritoneal dialysis (PD) worldwide (Balzer, 2020). PD is a common renal replacement therapy for patients with ESRD.

High-density active sites COFs with flower-like morphology for Energy storage application
High-density active sites COFs with flower-like morphology for Energy storage application Redox-active covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are an emerging class of energy storage materials with notably abundant active sites, well-defined 1D channels and highly surface areas. However, during the process of crystalline framework formation, error checking and proofreading will inevitably lead to internal structural defects. The morphological control of COFs is still a difficult task.
