The NBA is back, and apparently one basketball season now needs regular-season games, Cup games, Christmas games, international games, rivalry weeks, an All-Star weekend, a Play-In, and four rounds of playoffs. Good for basketball fans. Even better if you’re planning NBA advertising campaigns around the moments when attention spikes.

The first double-digit sales day is just a few weeks away, and now is the perfect time to prep your campaigns to catch all that traffic that is surely coming. This guide covers when to run your campaigns, which markets to target, and which formats and payment models get the most out of the traffic. If you’re running the sites where all this shopping happens, stick around. There’s a note for you near the end. Four dates decide how big your Q4 gets in Southeast Asia.
Future grid can’t be planned using yesterday’s network model
That makes one question increasingly important: are we planning tomorrow’s grid using a sufficiently accurate picture of the grid we have today? In many cases, the answer is complicated. Electricity networks have accumulated enormous amounts of institutional knowledge over decades. Much of it sits across legacy systems, spreadsheets, databases and applications that were designed for a world in which networks changed relatively slowly. That model is becoming increasingly difficult to sustain.
Types and Typology
In February 1840, Edward FitzGerald came home to find Alfred Tennyson installed on the sofa, grimy and stinking of tobacco. He was in a bad way, argumentative and restless; his griping was so incessant that FitzGerald asked him to call ‘a truce’ on his complaints.
Pop-Up vs Pop-Under: The Complete Comparison Guide
Pop-up vs. pop-under ads – it’s a very common question. Aren’t they the same thing? Pop-up ads open directly in front of your browser window, cutting into whatever you were doing. Pop-under ads open behind your current tab, out of sight until you close or minimize that window. That single difference in timing changes how users respond and how campaigns perform. It also means the two formats aren’t interchangeable for every advertiser.
Three Case Studies: Their Playbook for Success in the Southeast Asian Market
A movie streaming site in Vietnam. A novel platform in Indonesia. A gaming content site in the Philippines. These 3 sites share no content, but all three make good, steady money as Southeast Asian publishers. They all use similar ad formats that perform really well in a region that shops online more than almost anywhere else. Let’s look at what each one is doing right, and what any SEA publisher can copy, no matter their niche. Football? What Football?
Autotag 4-In-1: The Smarter Way to Monetize
Manual ad placement is fine. It’s great. It really is. But it takes time. A lot of time. You test different formats, you tweak placements. All of a sudden, something shifts. User behavior changes overnight. Suddenly, your “optimized” setup isn’t so optimized anymore. So yes, manual placement is fine. But there is a better way. Meet Autotag 4-in-1. Instead of constantly adjusting things yourself, you drop in a single piece of code. A smart algorithm handles placements and formats in real time.

Pop-Under Ads: The Complete Guide (And Why They Still Work in 2026)
In this guide, we break down what pop-under ads are. We cover how they work, go over some misunderstandings, why they remain effective in 2026, and how to use them strategically to drive conversions while maintaining a positive user experience. The Most Misunderstood Ad Format on the Internet Pop-under ads have a reputation problem. Mention them and people immediately picture something annoying, outdated, borderline spammy. The kind of thing that shouldn’t still exist in 2026. Except… it does.
CPM Bidding Strategy: How to Optimize and Scale Profitable Campaigns

The Art of Craft Work
"It takes me about 50 minutes to get from my place on the Côte d’Azur to Saint-Tropez in my J Craft Torpedo, and about two hours, 50 minutes in a Ferrari,” says Jacques Sicotte. He should know. As the owner of one of the world’s largest Ferrari collections, and one of only 200 Ferrari ambassadors worldwide, this Canadian nuclear engineer has tried the route into town a few times and discovered that it is a traffic magnet. Not so the open sea.
Wicket Strategies: ICC T20 World Cup 2026
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is coming in swinging (for six). The World Cup is pure adrenaline-fuelled madness watched by hundreds of millions worldwide.
What is Real-Time Bidding (RTB)?
Real-time bidding (RTB) is when advertisers and publishers use an online auction to buy and sell ads. It all happens in real time. When an impression is won, the ad is automatically displayed on the page. Like any other auction, advertisers submit bids on the impressions they want. The auction selects a winning bid based on factors such as price, ad format compatibility, or floor price set by the publisher and platform. All this happens in milliseconds, in the time it takes a webpage to load.
Super Bowl Ads 2026: Your Playbook for the Diamond Jubilee
We’re down to the final two. The Seattle Seahawks. The New England Patriots. You’re here to learn how to turn the biggest sporting event of the year into something that would make Fort Knox jealous. The Super Bowl is having its Diamond Jubilee.

If you’re an advertiser or publisher, this is the perfect kind of “global sports madness” that creates spikes in traffic, hype, and high-intent clicks.
Event Recap: SiGMA Central Europe Rome 2025
“Insanely big” doesn’t quite cover it. SiGMA Rome hosted 30,000 people, spread across six massive halls. It was a sprawling, buzzing spectacle that made even seasoned attendees feel they were let loose in the world’s biggest arcade. The event made its best Rome impression, with massive “traffic” in every direction.

The Lamp Magazine | King Tut’s Tomb
When Richard Ellmann’s biography of James Joyce appeared in 1958, it changed the novelist’s public image forever. Gone was the “impersonal artist, cold and aloof” of the academic seminar; gone, too, was the writer defined by obscenity and scatological sprawl, once banned by the U.S. Postal Service and still unavailable in Irish bookshops.

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana Go Back to Their Roots
Why a younger generation are looking to the Italian duo for classic style. I still remember my first Dolce & Gabbana men’s show. It was not long after the Italian duo had launched their collection for men – in 1990 – and it made a huge impact on me. Here was an alternative view of Italian style to that which had become the accepted look of the ’80s. Instead of the wide-shouldered and trousered suits with their double-breasted big lapels, here was a slimmer silhouette with skinny trousers and ties.
How Thomas Pink's made-to-measure service celebrates individualism in shirt-wearing
London-based shirt-maker Thomas Pink has launched a made-to-measure service. It’s very fitting, says Peter Howarth To be clear, Thomas Pink does make pink shirts. In some ways these have become a signature for the brand: today it has an ongoing art project called Portraits in Pink in which it sends a pink shirt to a photographer somewhere in the world and asks them to shoot it in any way they see fit.

Peter Howarth · On Tour · LRB 2 March 2023
Wigtown was the last stop on my summer festival research tour. Over the last ten or fifteen years, many music festivals have started to include a poetry and books stage, and local council-led festivals are now doing so too. Helped by its kinship with rap and stand-up, spoken word has flourished at music festivals, and poetry stages now host everything from collective improv to the poet laureate. But the audiences are different from the ones at book festivals or bookshop readings.
Rejoicings in a Dug-Out
Not long ago , I heard the story of a trainee priest being interviewed by an irascible bishop. After some scanning of the man’s records, the bishop looked up and said abruptly: ‘Most of the problems in my churches stem from people unaware of how vulnerable they are to one of three temptations: money, sex or power. So which is it for you?’ G.K. Chesterton could have claimed to be unaffected by all three.
Lightning Conductor
In January 2009, Bhanu Kapil went to the India-Pakistan border and lay down. After pressing her body into the earth, she began to build an outline around the imprint, paying attention to everything she sensed – she intended her notes to form the basis of an epic poem on the ‘transgenerational effects’ of Partition. A year later, she threw the notebook into her snowy garden in Colorado in disgust.
Clinical Remission with Biologic Use Among US Subspecialist-treated Patients with Severe Asthma: Results from the CHRONICLE Study
Limited real-world data are available on the effect of baseline inflammatory characteristics on rates of clinically significant exacerbations (CSE) for patients receiving mepolizumab. Here we describe the association of pre-treatment measures of blood eosinophil count (BEC) and exhaled nitric oxide levels (FeNO) with rates of CSE in REALITI-A.
In praise of Dominic Cummings!
Image by Sam Saunders from Flickr licensed under CC-BY-SA I’m turning into a grumpy old man. That, however, does not explain a worrying epiphany I had recently, which was the realisation that I have a grudging respect for Dominic Cummings. Not for what he’s done, but for the way he did it. Maybe that’s not quite accurate, because what I actually admire is the way he was able to see how to achieve his aims when other politicians were so blinkered.

Are the media fanning the flames of racial intolerance?
Photo by Vidar Nordli Mathison from unsplash Share EmailTwitterFacebook Did the media’s description of penalty ‘saves’ at the Euro 2021 football competition as ‘misses’ fan the flames of racial abuse? England lost the shoot-out, and when a loss occurs we English seem to need to have someone to blame.
Might-have-beens must die
If you’ve ever played the Game of Life, you’ll know it’s hard to feel like you’re losing. Players choose a college or career path, get paid a salary, and set off through life spinning little wheels to acquire experiences, pets, pay, spouses, pay, houses, and more pay. There are no affairs, wrong decisions, illnesses or serious losses, only relative degrees of prosperity.

Exploring the potential of eosinophils
Peter Howarth (pictured above), Global Clinical Scientific Lead for Biologics at GSK looks at the emerging science behind eosinophils and how it is helping to guide the company’s research and development programme. All of us have eosinophils in our blood – a type of white blood cell that forms part of the immune system. Historically, research has focused on how the overproduction of eosinophils may be involved in the development of disease.

See clearly: How Oakley became the go-to for the great outdoors
Oakley has a vision for enjoying the great outdoors, as Peter Howarth explains... Imagine you’re on board your boat, moored in a Greek bay, and when you peer over the side the fish are remarkably discernible beneath the surface. Or perhaps you’re at the top of the famous Tortin ski run in Verbier looking down the slope, and instead of seeing an indeterminate field of white, the moguls are picked out clearly so you’ll be able to navigate your way with ease.

Algernon Charles Swinburne’ edited by Francis O’Gorman · LRB 8 November 2018
Swinburne was proud of sticking to his guns. In the dedication to his collected Poems (six volumes, 1904), he declared himself a writer who ‘has nothing to regret and nothing to recant’, who ‘finds nothing that he could wish to cancel, to alter, or to unsay, in any page he has ever laid before his reader’.
