Splicing-mediated control of hnRNPD isoform switching by SRSF2 drives PD-L1-dependent immune evasion in gallbladder cancer
Abstract Gallbladder cancer (GBC), a lethal malignancy of the biliary tract, is associated with a poor clinical prognosis. Although chemo-immunotherapy combinations demonstrate preliminary efficacy, the molecular determinants of treatment response remain elusive. Emerging evidence implicates aberrant alternative splicing in modulating tumor immunity. Through an in vitro CRISPR/Cas9 screen, we identified SRSF2 as a key RNA-binding protein regulating PD-L1 expression.

Water Significantly Changes the Ring-Cleavage Process During Aqueous Photooxidation of Toluene
As a major constituent of aromatic compounds, toluene exists widely in environmental aqueous phases. This research investigated the aqueous-phase OH oxidation of toluene to determine how liquid water changes the radical chemistry of ring-cleavage pathways. Results show that ring-cleavage pathways through the C7 bicyclic peroxy radical (BPR) account for about 70% of total aqueous-phase oxidation pathways, which is similar to that in the gas-phase oxidation.
Incerta-thalamic Circuit Controls Nocifensive Behavior via Cannabinoid Type 1 Receptors

A novel cortico-intrathalamic circuit for flight behavior
Abstract Flight, an active fear response to imminent threat, is dependent on the rapid risk assessment of sensory information processed by the cortex. The thalamic reticular nucleus (TRN) filters information between the cortex and the thalamus, but whether it participates in the regulation of flight behavior remains largely unknown. Here, we report that activation of parvalbumin-expressing neurons in the limbic TRN, but not those in the sensory TRN, mediates flight.

How a Room's Lighting Shapes Our Decisions
Diners hoping not to overindulge during a night out might strategize how to set themselves up for success. Perhaps they look at menus ahead of time or steer clear of that café whose cheesecake they just can’t resist. But there is another factor they probably aren’t considering: the restaurant’s lighting.New research from the Kellogg School suggests they should be. Lighting, the research found, can change how likely we are to make pleasurable versus practical decisions.
