Design and Performance of Functionally Graded Heterogeneous Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Porous Bone Scaffolds With Biomimetic Vertebral Hierarchical Structures
1 Introduction Degenerative spinal disorders, including intervertebral disc degeneration, vertebral fractures, and spinal tumors, represent a major global health burden, affecting hundreds of millions of patients worldwide [1, 2]. Surgical interventions, notably spinal fusion and corpectomy, typically require the use of implantable scaffolds to restore the mechanical stability of spinal segments and promote bone regeneration [3].
The 2026 National Book Award Longlist for Translated Literature
Awards season is upon us, and all week long, the National Book Award judges will be releasing their 2026 longlists across five categories. These are among the most prestigious honors bestowed upon books in a given year. The National Book Awards began in 1936 by the American Booksellers Association, took a break during World War II, and then resumed under the leadership of several collaborating book industry organizations in 1950.
Controllable Dearomative Photocycloaddition of Triplet Benzenes With Allenes
1 Introduction Dearomative cycloaddition represents an efficient approach for synthesizing highly functionalized molecules with three-dimensional architectures from simple aromatic compounds [1, 2]. Among established synthetic methodologies, the photocycloaddition (PCA) of arenes provides a distinctive strategy to disrupt aromaticity, enabling access to unsaturated cyclic structures that are otherwise difficult to obtain via ground-state reactions [3, 4].

Characteristics of quasi-stationary Southwest Vortex and its mechanisms affecting precipitation
Abstract This study compares five quasi-stationary Southwest Vortex (SWV) events that induced heavy rainfall, using the CRA40 reanalysis data from the China Meteorological Administration. Results indicate that the Tibetan Plateau’s topography and the strong westward-extending Western Pacific subtropical high (WPSH) act as critical blocking factors, stabilizing the SWV in the Sichuan-Chongqing region.
A study on the rapid evaluation of injection-production capacity for depleted gas reservoir UGS by PI-GNN
Abstract Predicting the injection-production capacity of depleted gas reservoir underground gas storage is schallenging due to the difficulties in combining complex inter-well dynamic coupling with physical consistency, alongside the poor computational efficiency of traditional mechanistic models. To address these issues, a physics-informed graph neural network (PI-GNN) model is proposed, integrating well pattern topological features with the Law of Conservation of Mass.

Treg-γδ T cell axis determines sexual dimorphism in hepatocarcinogenesis - Nature Communications
Abstract Sexual dimorphism in the incidence and mortality of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has been observed worldwide. Sex hormones play an essential role in determining male predominance in hepatocarcinogenesis. Here we reveal significant sexual dimorphism in regulatory T cells (Tregs). Compared with HCC in female mice/patients, tumours in male mice/patients are more enriched in Tregs.

Achieving high tensile strength and ductility in refractory alloys by tuning electronic structure - Nature Materials
Abstract The energy efficiency of heat engines (gas and steam turbines) for electricity production and propulsion is determined by the Carnot cycle and scales with operating temperature. Commercial nickel- and cobalt-based superalloys melt near 1,500 °C and rapidly lose mechanical strength beyond 1,000 °C. Refractory metals melt well above 2,000 °C but have inherent manufacturability challenges that are barriers to adoption, such as high ductile-to-brittle transition temperatures.

Erianin Suppresses Pancreatic Cancer Progression by Inducing Cell Cycle Arrest and Ferroptosis
Abstract Background Pancreatic cancer is a highly aggressive malignancy with limited therapeutic options and poor prognosis. Erianin, a natural product, has shown anti-cancer properties in various malignancies, but its effects on pancreatic cancer and the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. Aim This study aimed to evaluate the anti-tumor effects of erianin on pancreatic cancer cells and to explore the regulatory mechanisms involved.

Efficient deep-blue crystalline OLEDs via hot exciton nanoaggregate sensitizing TTA emitters
Efficient deep-blue crystalline OLEDs via hot exciton nanoaggregate sensitizing TTA emitters† Crystalline organic semiconductors exhibit high carrier mobility. Embedding high exciton-utilization emitters as nanoaggregates (NA) within a crystalline host matrix (CHM) is an effective strategy to achieve strong light emission under a low driving voltage. In this study, a hot exciton material (PyPO) was embedded as NA into a CHM.
Retraction Note: Blocking C-Raf alleviated high-dose small-volume radiation-induced epithelial mesenchymal transition in mice lung - Scientific Reports
Retraction of: Scientific Reports https://doi.org/10.1038/s41598-020-68175-z, published online 07 July 2020 The Editors have retracted this Article. After publication of this Article, concerns were raised about similarities found between Fig. 6C line 1 (control) and line 2 (70 Gy Xray), with different comparable channel intensities. The Authors were unable to provide a sufficient response to concerns, nor the original data that could address them.
Superstructure magnetic anisotropy in Fe3O4 nanoparticle chains - Nature Communications
Abstract Magnetic anisotropy is essential for many applications of ferromagnetic/ferrimagnetic materials, including permanent magnets and magnetic recording media. Attempts have been made recently to build up 3-D nanoparticle and quantum dot assemblies, however, it is not understood yet if a nanoparticle assembly can possess high magnetic anisotropy with low anisotropic materials. In this article, we report our discovery of high magnetic anisotropy resulted from Fe3O4 nanoparticle chains.
Cryo-EM structure of DNA-unbound human MCM2-7 complex reveals new disease-relevant regulation
Abstract Chromatin loading of the hexameric replicative helicase MCM2-7 complex requires coordinated interactions with the origin recognition complex (ORC), CDC6, and CDT1. MCM2-7 not bound to DNA forms a single hexamer (SH) with an open DNA entry gate. Two MCM2-7 SHs are loaded sequentially to form the double hexamer (DH) that encircles the DNA duplex. Activated MCM2-7 then unwinds DNA and initiates DNA replication.
Asymmetric 1,4‐Addition and Functionalization Strategy in Total Synthesis
The transition-metal catalyzed enantioselective 1,4-addition and subsequent functionalization strategy provides a powerful approach to construct 2,3-disubstituted cycloalkanones, which are further utilized as important intermediates in the total synthesis of natural products. This concept article highlights recent advances in the methodology development and related synthetic application.
scRNA+TCR-seq Reveals the Proportion and Characteristics of Dual TCR Treg Cells in Mouse Lymphoid and Non-lymphoid Tissues
Abstract The rearrangement of TCR germline V(D)J genes during T cell development, including allelic exclusion and tolerance selection, ensures the clonal selection theory, which states that "a lymphocyte expresses only one type of antigen receptor" This forms the basis for T cell-specific responses. However, The existence of "dual TCR T cells" has consistently been supported by specific experimental evidence.

A wheat tandem kinase and NLR pair confers resistance to multiple fungal pathogens
Editor’s summary Plant immunity relies heavily on intracellular nucleotide-binding leucine-rich repeat (NLR) proteins, which can act as either receptors or signal transducers to facilitate disease resistance. In wheat and barley, an alternative class of genes called the tandem kinases also contribute to disease resistance. Two papers in this issue elucidate how tandem kinases work, showing that wheat tandem kinases require an NLR to function. Chen et al.
