KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Former Tennessee guard Chaz Lanier was selected 37th overall in the 2025 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons on Thursday. Lanier played one season at Tennessee but helped lead the Vols to the Elite Eight. The Brentwood, Tennessee native averaged 18 points per game while shooting 39.5% on three pointers and 43.1% from the field. He was the recipient of the prestigious Jerry West Award and voted SEC Newcomer of the Year by the league’s head coaches.

Doyle is also a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy.
