It works today to undermine the interests of the country and all of its citizens, no matter their political persuasion. It gives us political leaders who can’t lead, public-policy gridlock that makes everyone too dependent on the judiciary, and leaves significant financial problems unsolved even though everyone knows they urgently need solving.
