Metabolically unhealthy normal weight is associated with subclinical carotid atherosclerosis: cross-sectional and longitudinal evidence from a Chinese health examination cohort
Abstract Background and aims: Whether metabolically unhealthy normal weight (MUNW) is associated with subclinical carotid atherosclerosis (SCAS) and how its risk compares with that of metabolically unhealthy overweight/obesity (MUO) remain uncertain, particularly in longitudinal analyses and across age groups.
The First Principles of Chinese Civilization: Relationalism and Pragmatism
Keywords relationalism, pragmatism, language, thinking modes, cultural values Abstract This article examines the first principles of Chinese civilization, relationalism and pragmatism, through Liah Greenfeld’s (2024) definition of civilization as a distinct cultural reality. By comparing Chinese civilization with others, particularly in the context of globalization, we seek to identify its distinctive characteristics.

Chromenone-Pyrazole Mixture as a Dual-Channel Fluorescent Probe for Selective Detection of Fe³⁺ and Cr⁶⁺ with Aggregation-Induced Emission Properties
You are already at the latest version Herein, we report a simple physical mixture of chromenone and pyrazole as a cost-effective dual-channel fluorescent probe for selective detection of Fe³⁺ and Cr⁶⁺. The mixture exhibits typical aggregation-induced emission (AIE) behavior in both tetrahydrofuran (THF)/water and THF/simulated body fluid (SBF) systems, with maximum fluorescence intensity at 80% poor solvent fraction.
A Highly Expressed Odorant Receptor Detects the Aggregation Pheromone Rhynchophorol in the Invasive American Palm Weevil
1 Introduction Insects are surrounded by a variety of volatile chemicals that play crucial roles in their behaviour and ecology. Behaviours guided by chemical cues include mate location, oviposition site and food source selection, and predator detection (Andersson et al. 2015; Bruce et al. 2005; Fleischer et al. 2018; Hansson and Stensmyr 2011). Among these chemicals, pheromones, such as sex or aggregation pheromones, are key intraspecific communication signals in insects.

HERA: a Hybrid Euler Reservoir Architecture for multivariate time series classification
Abstract Multivariate time series classification (MTSC) is a critical task in fields such as human activity recognition, medical diagnosis, and industrial process monitoring. Its core problem lies in effectively capturing the complex nonlinear dynamics within and between multidimensional variables. Reservoir computing (RC), as an efficient feature extraction model, offers advantages including low computational resource requirements and fast training speeds.

Abstract References Supplementary Material Get access More Cite Share options Information, rights and permissions Metrics and citations Abstract This study examined how multiple factors, independent of research quality, influence the scientific impact of language assessment articles. A total of 447 papers published between 2018 and 2022 were investigated using a path analysis approach to identify both direct and indirect ways in which extrinsic factors affect citation counts.
Cost-effective interfacial high-concentration electrolyte for stable lithium metal batteries - Nature Communications
Abstract High-concentration electrolytes are promising candidates for high-energy-density lithium metal batteries, yet their practical application is hindered by sluggish ionic transfer and high costs. Here, we show an interfacial high-concentration electrolyte that overcomes these limitations by localizing 5 M LiTFSI electrolyte at the Li anode surface, while maintaining a 1 M electrolyte in the bulk.
Failure Event Mining With Fine‐Tuned Large Language Model: Case Study of Analyzing United States Nuclear Power Plant Failure Event Reports
1 Introduction The reliability parameters of nuclear power plant components can be estimated with statistical approaches using observed failure counts and the number of demands or operating hours. However, since the nuclear power industry is highly reliable, there is a challenge in gathering sufficient failure data to perform statistical reliability parameter estimations. Industry-wide operating experience is a critical source of raw data for component reliability estimations (Eide et al.

Exploring Aggregation-Induced Emission in Anthracene-Naphthalene Derivatives for Selected Detection of Nitro Explosives
Submitted: 15 December 2025 You are already at the latest version The detection of nitro explosives is critical for security and environmental monitoring. This study investigates the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties of anthracene and naphthalene derivatives, under varying water fractions between 0% and 70%. These compounds exhibit enhanced fluorescence due to AIE, making them suitable candidates for sensing applications.
Pyrazine-Naphthalene-Based AIE-Active Polymer as a Highly Sensitive Fluorescent Probe for Fe³⁺ Detection
A novel amide-containing AIE polymer was synthesized via condensation polymerization of pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxylic acid and naphthalene-1,5-diamine. The polymer showed strong fluorescence in aggregates and selective quenching for Fe³⁺, serving as an efficient probe. The chelation-enhanced quenching mechanism was studied. This work offers a simple approach to AIE-active polymeric probes for environmental and biological sensing.

Glycyrrhetinic Acid-Biguanide Conjugate-Based Nanoparticles as a Multi-Functional Drug Delivery System: Paclitaxel Encapsulation and Targeted Therapy
Abstract Click to copy section linkSection link copied! Paclitaxel (PTX) is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent, but its clinical utility is limited by poor solubility, systemic toxicity, and inadequate tumor targeting. To address these challenges, we developed a novel glycyrrhetinic acid–biguanide conjugate (GABG) capable of forming self-assembling, carrier-free nanoparticles. GABG’s amphiphilic and self-emulsifying properties enable efficient PTX encapsulation and targeted delivery.

Design of a dual-band common aperture confocal plane optical system
In order to achieve high-quality imaging while simplifying the structure and reducing the size of the optical system, a miniature dual-disc folding reflection optical system was designed. A design approach incorporating reflector fitting is employed; the adjacent reflector is fitted to one mirror. The optimized optical system contains two mirrors, and the system length-to-focal-length ratio is 0.325, which significantly reduces the axial distance of the system.
