LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Urban Government Center needs to be repurposed. Essentially everybody agrees to that, but the question is how. The Upper Paristown Preservation Trust, or UPPT, is behind current plans to redevelop this metro-owned property. UPPT is the same group that transformed Paristown Point, with restaurants, a concert hall, and seasonal events.

Bezos Academy breaks ground on third of 4 Louisville locations

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The most recognizable part of The Bezos Academy is its founder, tech giant Jeff Bezos, but the most noteworthy part may be its efforts to expand early education to parts of the country that have historically lacked the opportunity for pre-school age learning. Bezos Academy provides a tuition-free Montessori-style education for children ages 3-5. The students are selected based on need. Bezos Academy is currently open in three states.

Shepherdsville aquatic center now in the works

SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Shepherdsville city officials broke ground on a $30 million aquatic center Friday. An abandoned site on Joe B Hall Avenue in Shepherdsville hasn't been much use to the city in recent years, the mayor said, so the city bought it, demolished what was on it, and have moved forward with their plans for it. The aquatic center will feature an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. For reference, it's right across the street from Kart Kountry.
