Midwest City still needs lifeguards as summer staffing shortage continues

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. - A lifeguard shortage that threatened the opening of Midwest City’s Reno Swim and Slide pool earlier this summer is still causing challenges weeks into the season. City officials say they’re looking to hire 10 more lifeguards after staffing shortages led to unplanned pool closures in June. For head lifeguard Kaylee Lindley, the pool is more than just a summer job. “I used to visit here when I was a kid and it just felt like home,” Lindley said.
