TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, helped move General Atomics’ newest missile, Vektrex, into production. Vektrex is a long-range 155 mm artillery projectile. Wicker was joined by senior Department of Defense leaders at the Shannon-based company. The munition is intended to help the United States replenish and expand its weapons inventory.

Mississippi Supreme Court denies appeal from former Corinth superintendent

CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi Supreme Court denied an appeal from former Corinth School District Superintendent Lee Childress. He was hoping to quash his state indictment for hindering prosecution. Childress faces allegations of failing to notify law enforcement or state leaders about former teacher Wilson Jones.
