OROVILLE, Calif. - Firefighters from the Oroville Fire Department and CAL FIRE Butte Unit will be performing a large controlled burn at the Oroville Airport on June 24, weather permitting. CAL FIRE says the project aims to reduce hazardous fuels and enhance natural resources across 400 acres of grassland. The burn is part of a collaborative effort between CAL FIRE, Butte County, and the Oroville Fire Department fuels reduction programs.
