Barriers and facilitators to symptom-related help-seeking among men with genitourinary malignancies: a qualitative study
Abstract Objective: To explore perceived barriers and facilitating factors related to symptom-related help-seeking among men with genitourinary malignancies and inform the development of symptom-management support. Methods: Men with genitourinary malignancies were recruited through purposive sampling at a tertiary hospital. Data were collected through semi-structured, in-depth interviews and analyzed using Colaizzi’s seven-step method.

Time-frequency gated transformer for structural dynamic response reconstruction
Abstract Structural dynamic response reconstruction is of significant importance because data incompleteness critically undermines the reliability of structural health monitoring. Existing deep-learning reconstruction methods focus solely on the time-domain features of structural dynamic responses and neglect their frequency-domain counterpart. This reduces their reconstruction accuracy because the frequency-domain features directly reflect the inherent dynamic characteristics of structures.

Artificial vegetation restoration enhances soil organic carbon in abandoned mines through chemical property-driven modulation of bacterial communities
Abstract Restoration of artificial vegetation in mining areas can improve soil health and quality. A healthy soil ecosystem has suitable characteristics and diverse microbes, which can be assessed for balance and stability. This study investigated how cultivating alfalfa, Pennisetum giganteum, Chrysanthemum indicum, Chrysanthemum zawadskii, and Amorpha fruticosa affects mine soil rehabilitation. We analyzed soil chemical properties, bacterial diversity, and composition.
China’s EV success was built on more than government intervention
China’s rise as the world’s leading electric vehicle producer offers an interesting case study in industrial policy. Its experience shows how competition between government agencies, local governments and private capital can drive experimentation and innovation, while also creating challenges for governments seeking to support emerging industries.

China’s rise as the world’s leading electric vehicle producer offers an interesting case study in industrial policy. Its experience shows how competition between government agencies, local governments and private capital can drive experimentation and innovation, while also creating challenges for governments seeking to support emerging industries.
What China’s EV rise tells us about industrial policy
China’s emergence as the world’s leading producer of electric vehicles (EVs) is often attributed to a powerful, interventionist state. But this explanation treats the Chinese government as a single actor and understates the importance of competition, private finance and institutional experimentation. China’s EV success is better understood as the outcome of interactions among three forces — competing central government agencies, development-oriented local governments and capital markets.
Targeting ACSF2 overcomes Ara-C resistance in acute myeloid leukemia via the cholesterol metabolism-ERK signaling axis
Abstract Therapeutic resistance to cytarabine (Ara-C), a cornerstone of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) therapy, remains an unmet clinical need. Here, we identify ACSF2 as a key metabolic determinant of Ara-C resistance. ACSF2 inhibition suppresses Ara-C-resistant AML cell proliferation, restores Ara-C sensitivity in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, ACSF2 inhibition impairs cholesterol esterification.

Circularly polarized bulk-heterojunction memory-computing organic light-emitting diodes for a neural radiance field-based 3D display
Abstract Intelligent three-dimensional displays require both powerful computing capabilities and high display performance, yet these metrics have long been constrained by the inherent trade-off between efficiency and image quality. Here we introduce circularly polarized bulk-heterojunction memory-computing organic light-emitting diodes featuring an integrated memory-processing-display architecture to break this long-standing limitation.

Abstract Greenhouse cultivation substantially enhances land-use efficiency and food security worldwide. However, regional variations in farming systems and their socioeconomic impacts remain poorly quantified.
PlantRG: A Comprehensive and User-Friendly Database for Plant Resistance Gene Analogs (RGAs)
1 Introduction Plant diseases represent a major factor in reducing crop yields, severely undermining global food security. According to studies (Savary et al. 2019), plant diseases cause yield losses of approximately 10.1%–28.1% for wheat, 24.6%–40.9% for rice, 19.5%–41.1% for maize, 8.1%–21.0% for potatoes and 11.0%–32.4% for soybeans. Such losses exert a significant impact on the global food supply.

Outcome of amniotic membrane transplantation in ocular GVHD-related corneal melting: a retrospective case series
Abstract Purpose: To investigate the outcome of single amniotic membrane transplantation (AMT) in the treatment of corneal melting associated with ocular graft-versus-host disease (oGVHD) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), and to explore the correlative risk factors. Methods: A retrospective case series study. Data of 303 patients with oGVHD were reviewed, and cases of corneal melting undergoing AMT were collected.
Interstitial cation defect chemistry and correlated disorder in melilite solid electrolytes
Abstract Solid electrolytes are fundamental to fuel cells, batteries, sensors and electrolysers. Among them, melilite oxides are promising oxide-ion solid electrolytes due to their unique layered tetrahedral networks. However, the defect chemistry in acceptor-doped melilites remains controversial and largely unchallenged for decades, particularly the long-standing assumption that oxygen vacancies can be created to prompt the oxide-ion transport.

Sirolimus plus roxadustat synergistically enhances immunosuppression and erythropoiesis in pure red cell aplasia: a multicenter trial
|
Abstract Acquired pure red cell aplasia (aPRCA) is rare and challenging to treat. We investigated the efficacy and safety of sirolimus plus roxadustat in patients with aPRCA (Chinese Clinical Trial Register number, ChiCTR2200065107). We enrolled 82 patients with aPRCA in this prospective single-arm, open-label, multicenter trial between October 2022 and January 2024. Treatment response and safety files were evaluated. The median age was 63 years. Seven patients withdrew during the trial period.

Dual-metal-doped perovskite adsorbents for efficient removal of humic acid
Abstract Humic acid (HA), a complex organic compound of natural matter, is harmless on its own but can form carcinogenic disinfection byproducts, such as trihalomethanes and haloacetic acids, during water chlorination and disinfection processes, posing serious risks to aquatic organisms and human health. We present a B-site dual-metal-doping strategy to fabricate ferromagnetic perovskite-type adsorbents for rapid and efficient HA degradation.
Electroacupuncture-augmented breaststroke vs. breaststroke alone for mild AIS: superior correction in a retrospective cohort
Abstract Background: In China, acupuncture is commonly used for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS), but it requires combination with other therapies. In clinical practice, orthopedic surgeons often recommend swimming for mild AIS patients with Cobb angle <25°. However, owing to the paucity of high-quality evidence and standardized protocols, the efficacy of swimming for AIS remains controversial.
Mechanisms of fetal growth restriction in gestational cholestasis: role of gut microbiota and placental redox
Abstract Introduction: Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is a cholestatic liver disorder associated with substantial fetal morbidity, including preterm birth, fetal distress, and even intrauterine demise. Although prior studies have documented structural and transcriptional alterations in the placenta during ICP, the mechanistic underpinnings linking maternal cholestasis to adverse fetal outcomes remain incompletely elucidated.

Human Cell Aging Transcriptome Atlas (HCATA): a single-cell atlas of age-associated transcriptomic alterations across human tissues - Communications Biology
Abstract Biological aging is associated with progressively more severe genetic and epigenetic alterations. While these changes are expected to affect the transcriptional profile of cells, the magnitude of that effect is unknown as the aging transcriptome is still poorly understood. Understanding the aging transcriptional landscape will give us greater insight into how cells are affected by and/or respond to the aging process.
