Engineering Polar Nanoregions in COFs via Controlled Symmetry Breaking Toward Piezocatalysis
1 Introduction Amid growing concerns over environmental pollution and fossil fuel depletion, hydrogen has emerged as a promising clean energy carrier [1-8]. Piezocatalytic hydrogen evolution offers significant advantages over photocatalysis, in that it not only enables more effective bulk utilization of the catalyst but also utilizes ubiquitous mechanical energy sources.
Destination Evaluation and General Behavioural Intention in a Digitally Visible Destination: Evidence from Zibo, China
Digitally visible destinations can gain rapid online attention, yet their longer-term tourism relevance depends on how visitors evaluate the destination after travel. Prognostic value of systemic inflammatory markers in patients with resectable hepatocellular carcinoma: a meta-analysis
Abstract Preoperative systemic inflammatory markers are inexpensive candidate prognostic factors after hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) resection, but heterogeneous populations, endpoints, effect measures, and cutoff selection may limit interpretation. Full texts were re-screened using a strict definition of primary HCC treated by first curative-intent hepatic resection.
Patient factors in medical artificial intelligence: a systematic review
|
Abstract Medical artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly developed, piloted and used in clinical practice, yet the translation of technical capability into real-world benefit is impacted by patient factors that shape how patients understand, engage with and respond to AI outputs and processes. However, there has been limited systematic evaluation of how patient factors are integrated and reported across medical AI research.

Apoplastic Barrier Remodelling Is Associated With Genotype-Dependent Microplastic Accumulation in Tomato Roots
1 Introduction Microplastics (MPs), defined as plastic particles less than 5 mm in size, have attracted global attention as a pervasive environmental contaminant (Thompson et al. 2004; Li et al. 2020). With the extensive use and improper disposal of plastic products, MPs contamination has permeated a wide range of ecosystems, from mountaintops to the deep sea, polar glaciers and agricultural soils (Lebreton et al. 2017; Materić et al. 2020; Pan et al. 2022; Lei et al. 2023; Zhao et al. 2025a).
AI-based clinician decision support system for diagnosis of inherited retinal diseases: a multicenter, randomized trial
|
Abstract The accurate and timely diagnosis of inherited retinal diseases (IRDs) represents an unmet clinical need in ophthalmology, as the current pathways rely on resource-intensive phenotyping, multidisciplinary expertise and genetic testing. Here we developed Retina4IRD, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based clinician decision support system (CDSS) that predicts 17 genotype categories from retina images. Retina4IRD uses a Vision Transformer model pretrained with RETFound.

Olink proteomics profiling platform reveals inflammatory protein biomarkers in vitreous with different degrees of proliferative vitreoretinopathy - Eye
Abstract This study aims to investigate the role of inflammation in proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) by analysing inflammation-related proteins in vitreous samples and identifying potential biomarkers for PVR severity. Vitreous samples were collected from patients with different stages of PVR (control group, n = 15; PVR A/B, n = 15; PVR C/D, n = 14). Using an Onlink proteomics panel, the levels of 92 inflammation-related proteins were measured.

Synergistic Fluorine and Cyanide Co‐Modification to Reinforce Photoinduced Excitons Formation and Transfer for Efficient CO2 Photoreduction
1 Introduction Global warming is the biggest environmental crisis facing humanity in the 21st century, and the root lies in the excessive accumulation of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere caused by the overuse of fossil fuel.[1] On the basis of energy conservation and emission reduction, the key to reversing the passive situation lies in the efficient elimination of existing CO2, which poses new challenges for the development of green conversion technologies.
Depth‐Dependence Changes in Soil Stoichiometry in China's Croplands Over the Past Four Decades
1 Introduction The biogeochemical cycles of carbon (C), nitrogen (N), and phosphorus (P) exhibit biological coupling from the molecular level to the global scale, owing to organisms that catalyze metabolic reactions with strict elemental proportions.[1] Consequently, the stoichiometric C:N:P ratios of soils serve as coupling indices that quantitatively reflect the biological processes and nutrient cycling in terrestrial ecosystems.[2, 3] Despite their robust coupling, the biogeochemical...

Keto-enol tautomerism as dynamic electron/hole traps promote charge carrier separation for hydrogen peroxide photosynthesis - Nature Communications
Abstract Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising photocatalysts for H2O2 photosynthesis, but charge carrier separation remains a critical challenge. Donor-acceptor COFs enhance charge separation, but the slow kinetics of water oxidation and oxygen reduction reactions lead to carrier accumulation, thereby decreasing efficiency.

A deep learning system for predicting time to progression of diabetic retinopathy - Nature Medicine
Abstract Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of preventable blindness worldwide. The risk of DR progression is highly variable among different individuals, making it difficult to predict risk and personalize screening intervals. We developed and validated a deep learning system (DeepDR Plus) to predict time to DR progression within 5 years solely from fundus images. First, we used 717,308 fundus images from 179,327 participants with diabetes to pretrain the system.
Synergistic regulation of Li deposition with F-doped hollow carbon spheres toward dendrite-free lithium metal anodes
Synergistic regulation of Li deposition with F-doped hollow carbon spheres toward dendrite-free lithium metal anodes The notorious issues of lithium (Li) dendrites growth and volume change hinders the practical application of Li metal anodes. LiF as a key component of the solid electrolyte interface (SEI) governs Li+ transport and deposition, yet the formation of LiF consumes the anions (PF6-/TFSI-) in the electrolyte, going against to the stable cycling of Li anodes.
Review of reactor conceptual design and thermal hydraulic characteristics for heat pipe in nuclear systems
