Risk factor analysis and development of a risk prediction model for facial pressure injury associated with noninvasive positive pressure ventilation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease based on symptom science theory
Abstract Background: Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation is a key treatment for acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and is associated with a facial pressure injury incidence of 20% to 30%. However, current risk assessment still relies on generic tools such as the Braden scale, and there is a lack of risk prediction instruments that incorporate ventilation related respiratory mechanical parameters.
Trophic reorganization may contribute to shifts in nitrogen transformations following alleviation of saline alkaline stress
Abstract Soil salinization is a widespread form of land degradation, yet how saline-alkaline stress is linked to belowground micro-food webs and shapes nitrogen transformations remains poorly understood. Here we compare natural saline–sodic and reclaimed farmland soils in northeastern China using microscopy and genetic sequencing. Farmland has higher nematode and prokaryote abundances and greater nematode, protist and prokaryote richness, whereas fungal richness is higher in solonetz soils.
The influence of structural variants from 2445 pigs on gene expression and complex traits
Abstract The impact of structural variants on gene regulation and complex traits in pigs remains poorly understood. Here, we present a resource comprising 60 long-read sequencing and 2445 high-quality short-read sequencing samples from 120 pig breeds/populations worldwide. These samples include 293 high-depth short-read sequencing samples and three long-read samples generated in this study.
SLC7A11 deficiency exacerbates systemic lupus erythematosus by inducing instability and ferroptosis in regulatory T cells
Abstract Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease posing a significant threat to human health. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) are crucial for immune homeostasis. Dysfunction of Tregs have been demonstrated in SLE, but underlying mechanisms remain largely unclear. Here, we observe that peripheral Treg numbers and SLC7A11 expression in Tregs are reduced in SLE, with SLC7A11 levels negatively correlates with disease activity.
Re-administration of AAV-mediated gene therapy for OTOF -related deafness: a single-arm trial
|
Abstract Re-administration of adeno-associated virus (AAV)-mediated gene therapy remains challenging due to neutralizing antibodies (NAbs) induced by the initial dose. We previously conducted a single-arm trial showing that single-dose administration of AAV-hOTOF gene therapy in individuals with OTOF-related deafness is safe and leads to hearing improvements.

Little Scientists & Social Apprentices: Active Word Learning in Dynamic Social Contexts Using a Transparent Dyadic Interaction Platform
1 Introduction Children learn language from their interaction partners in social contexts where they can, nevertheless, choose whom and what they will attend to and learn from. Recent studies highlight an “active boost” in learning, where children show better retention of information they actively elicit relative to information with which they are passively presented (De Simone and Ruggeri 2022).

Dynamical study of ${D}^{*}DK$ and ${D}^{*}D\overline{D}$ systems at quark level
Inspired by the recent report from the LHCb Collaboration on Tcc, which can be interpreted as a molecular DD*, we investigated two trimeson systems of the Tcc partner with IJP=01− in the framework of a chiral quark model. In the first case, because of the attraction between D* and D¯, we explored the existence of bound states in the system D*DD¯, which is obtained by adding D¯ into the molecular bound state Tcc (DD*).
Equivalence among color-singlet, color-octet, and diquark structures in a chiral quark model
Since the quark model was put forward, theoretical researchers have always attached great importance to the study of hidden color channels (including color octets and diquark structure). Because of the influence of color van der Waals forces, the hidden color channel itself has strong attraction, which provides a dynamic mechanism for the formation of a resonance state or bound state.

Possible charmed-strange molecular pentaquarks in quark delocalization color screening model
Inspired by the observations of Tcs¯0a(2900)0 and Tcs¯0a(2900)++ by LHCb Collaboration, we perform a systematical investigation of the charmed-strange pentaquark system by using the resonance group method in the quark delocalization color screening model. The present estimations indicate the existence of two bound states with I(JP) to be 12(52−) and 32(52−), and the masses are predicted to be 3392 and 3307 MeV, respectively. Moreover, three resonance states are also predicted in the present work.
Qualitative and Quantitative Detection of CRISPR-Associated Cas Gene in Gene-Edited Foods
1. Introduction Gene editing technology can effectively edit target genes and is therefore a valuable tool in biological research [1,2,3]. The third-generation gene editing technology, namely clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR), is a defense system in bacteria. The presence of these repeats was first discovered in Escherichia coli as early as 1987 by Ishino et al. [4], and, in 2000, Mojica et al. used computer analysis to find their prevalence in bacteria [5].
