1 Introduction Since the reform and opening up, with the rapid advancement of industrialization and urbanization, China has experienced the largest and most rapid rural-to-urban labor migration in world history.
Elevation of JAML Promotes Diabetic Kidney Disease by Modulating Podocyte Lipid Metabolism
Main text (Cell Metabolism 32, 1052–1062.e1–e8; December 1, 2020) In the original version of this article, the authors inadvertently misused the representative immunofluorescence image of WT-1 (green) for the Cre+/Jaml+/+ control group (left panel) in Figure 2E during the figure compilation. This error does not affect the results or conclusions of the paper. The authors sincerely apologize for any confusion that the oversight may have caused.

CT-based deep learning auto-segmentation of high-risk clinical target volume in CT-guided cervical cancer brachytherapy: a single-center pragmatic study
Abstract Introduction: Computed tomography (CT)-based high-risk clinical target volume (HR-CTV) auto-segmentation has been previously investigated, but evidence remains heterogeneous across applicators, target definitions, architectures, and clinical evaluation procedures. A pragmatic within-cohort benchmark of 2D U-Net, 3D U-Net, and nnFormer was performed in a CT-only, applicator-in-situ workflow.

HuR coordinates systemic aging through platelet infiltration
Abstract Aging involves morphological and functional changes across different organs, but how these changes are linked among the different organs remains to be elucidated. Here, we uncover a central role of platelets in systemic aging. In aged mice, the levels of platelet-secreted pro-inflammatory factors (PSPF) increased greatly in the serum and platelets, leading to a diffuse increase of platelet infiltration in the brain, liver, lung, kidney, and aortic root.
Solution epitaxy of single-crystal ferroelectric p-i-n structure with ultrahigh photovoltaic response
Abstract Ferroelectric materials with a switchable polarization are appealing for optoelectronic applications because of their above-bandgap photovoltage with a potential to exceed the Shockley-Queisser limit efficiency within classic p-n junctions. However, the intrinsic photovoltaic current in ferroelectrics remains far below the junction ones by orders, hindering their practical applications.

Calcium channel blockers increase the risk of aortic aneurysm and dissection - Nature Communications
Abstract Aortic aneurysm and dissection (AAD) are life-threatening conditions without effective medications. Impaired contractility of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) is strongly linked to AAD, but the role of calcium channel blockers (CCBs), which directly inhibits VSMC contractility, in AAD remains unclear. Here we showed data from 501,878 initially AAD-free participants in UK Biobank.

Antifibrotic mechanism of curcumin and its therapeutic potential in multi-organ diseases
Abstract Fibrosis is the outcome of chronic diseases and manifests as an abnormal repair process in which normal parenchyma is progressively replaced by deposited extracellular matrix. It leads to organ dysfunction and is associated with high morbidity, disability, and mortality, thereby becoming a major public health concern. Traditional Chinese medicine shows multi-target, multi-pathway strategies with favorable safety profiles.

Species Combinations and Sample Size: Optimizing Spectral Reflectance Models for Aquatic Plant Leaf Trait Prediction
You are already at the latest version Plant functional traits are critical indicators of ecosystem health, yet predicting aquatic leaf traits via spectral reflectance remains challenging due to limited sample sizes and the underrepresentation of rare species. We hypothesized that dominant species’ spectral models could infer rare species’ traits even with constrained data.

To the Editor, The patient was a 50-year-old woman diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia 6 years before the current presentation. After two cycles of VDCLP induction chemotherapy (vincristine, daunorubicin, cyclophosphamide, L-asparaginase, and prednisone), bone marrow examination indicated complete remission, with flow cytometry showing a minimal residual disease (MRD) level of < 1 × 10−4. The patient had undergone multiple consolidation treatments over the following 5 years.

Engineering mtDNA Deletions by Reconstituting End-Joining in Human Mitochondria
Abstract Recent breakthroughs in the genetic manipulation of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) have enabled the precise introduction of base substitutions and the effective removal of genomes carrying harmful mutations. However, the reconstitution of mtDNA deletions responsible for severe mitochondrial myopathies and age-related diseases has not yet been achieved in human cells.

Alkaline ceramidase 1–mediated platelet ceramide catabolism mitigates vascular inflammation and abdominal aortic aneurysm formation - Nature Cardiovascular Research
Abstract Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) is a highly lethal vascular disease. The role of platelets in AAA remains incompletely understood. Here we show that platelet ceramides, rather than other phospholipids, were elevated in an angiotensin II (AngII)-induced AAA murine model and in patients with AAA by using targeted lipidomic analysis. Among key ceramide metabolism enzymes, alkaline ceramidase 1 (Acer1) hydrolyzing ceramides were exclusively downregulated in AAA platelets.
Connecting Chromatin Structures to Gene Regulation Using Dynamic Polymer Simulations
Abstract The transfer of regulatory information between distal loci on chromatin is thought to involve physical proximity, but key biophysical features of these contacts remain unclear. For instance, it is unknown how close and for how long two loci need to be in order to productively interact. The main challenge is that it is currently impossible to measure chromatin dynamics with high spatiotemporal resolution at scale.

Gastric cancer incidence, mortality and burden in adolescents and young adults: a time-trend analysis and comparison among China, South Korea, Japan and the USA
Discussion The majority of GC occurs in elderly individuals, with its peak incidence and mortality reached among the total population aged 85–89 in China.23 In the USA, more than 95% of GC cases are diagnosed in individuals older than 40 years.24 Only 3.86% of new cases and 2.91% of deaths affected AYA in 2019 worldwide. GCAYA has traditionally been ignored by patients, physicians and policy-makers.
Modeling electrical conduction in resistive-switching memory through machine learning
Resistive-switching memory (RSM) is an emerging candidate for next-generation memory and computing devices, such as storage-class memory devices, multilevel memories, and as a synapse in neuromorphic computing. RSM devices have gained significant attention due to their simple metal–insulator–metal (MIM) structure, which composes a dielectric material sandwiched between the top electrode (TE) and bottom electrode (BE).11. Safeguarding mitochondrial genomes in higher eukaryotes
Abstract Mitochondria respond to DNA damage and preserve their own genetic material in a manner distinct from that of the nucleus but that requires organized mito–nuclear communication. Failure to resolve mtDNA breaks leads to mitochondrial dysfunction and affects host cells and tissues. Here, we review the pathways that safeguard mitochondrial genomes and examine the insights gained from studies of cellular and tissue-wide responses to mtDNA damage and mito–nuclear genome incompatibility. Three-dimensional chromatin landscapes in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Abstract Differences in three-dimensional (3D) chromatin architecture can influence the integrity of topologically associating domains (TADs) and rewire specific enhancer–promoter interactions, impacting gene expression and leading to human disease. Here we investigate the 3D chromatin architecture in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) by using primary human leukemia specimens and examine the dynamic responses of this architecture to pharmacological agents.
