QUINCY (WGEM) - Quincy officials are working to lower the cost of the proposed Quincy Sports Complex. This week, the Quincy Sports Commission approved the plans for a 48th and Maine Street location for the proposed sports complex. However, it is currently over the $25 million budget Mayor Linda Moore had previously called for. “I’m hesitant to say what it’s at right now other than it’s above 25 million [dollars].” said Quincy City Planner David Adam.

QUINCY (WGEM) - The two solar farm resolution approved at Monday’s Quincy City Council meeting could be the first solar properties to not be zoned residential. Of all the current solar farms in Quincy, none are zoned rural. However, in three weeks, there could be two, but it’s not without its controversy. “We should deny others in that same category,” said 3rd Ward Alderman Kelly Mays about a potential rural-zoned solar farm.

It was a packed house at Quincy City Council with 29 public commenters sharing their thoughts on Q-RILE, the referendum passed last year regarding rental regulations, and two proposed solar projects. The comments were split on Q-RILE, with landlords saying that there was no point in adding new laws on top of current regulations.
