SURFSIDE, Fla. (WWSB) - A federal investigation found Champlain Towers South had been failing for weeks before the condo tower collapsed in Surfside. The collapse killed nearly 100 people on June 24, 2021. The pool deck fell onto the underground parking garage, causing a chain reaction that destroyed a large part of the building. Monday’s report found the collapse was the result of flawed design and faulty construction.
