Allen Leister
VerifiedAllen Leister’s Biography
Born and raised in the small lumber town of Shelton, Washington, my roots and passion for the Pacific Northwest are unending.
Growing up with the Olympic Mountains practically in my backyard for my entire life, I love to explore the vast beauty that nature has to offer, but I also enjoy the peacefulness of watching sports and playing video games with friends and family.
I graduated in 2021 from the Murrow College at Washington State University in Pullman as a first-gen college grad, something that I hold near and dear to me.
Despite earning my bachelor's degree in Broadcast News, my journalism journey began on a different path, where I worked as a print reporter in Aberdeen, Washington, covering a wide range of topics, from hard news fields such as local politics, homelessness, crime, and public health to more light-hearted subjects like tourism, nature, and annual festivals.
I have been working as an Anchor, Producer, and Reporter for KEPR Action News in Pasco, WA, since 2023. I cover everything from hard news crime to soft news features in an effort to showcase what is all happening in the growing landscape of the Columbia Basin.
Getting the opportunity to tell stories that matter to people is what motivates me to get out of bed each morning, and I'm excited to experience how every chapter of Journalism life goes.
