BALTIMORE, Md. — The Maryland Zoo's second red panda has officially been named. The results of a naming contest led to a name inspired by the color of her fur. The Maryland Zoo's second red panda has been named Ember. Ember was introduced to visitors on June 12 and now shares a new habitat with neighboring red panda Aurora. And don't worry! These cold-climate animals have custom-designed logs with air conditioning. You can see Ember and Aurora in the Zoo's Main Valley.
