Andrew Minegar currently works at MIRS following a 10-year stint with CBS affiliate WWMT News Channel 3 in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Prior to working with WWMT, Minegar graduated with a degree in Journalism from Western Michigan University (WMU). He also founded a chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists at WMU and served as an intern at WMUK 102.1, an NPR-affiliate in Kalamazoo. As well as freelance work with several organizations in West Michigan since 2004.

Public parks are quite literally for everyone – but let’s face it: it’s the kids’ opinion that really matters. The quality of parks has a major impact on young people’s health, according to a 2020 study by researchers from Duke University and the University of California at San Francisco, which concluded that children who had access to parks were less likely to suffer from obesity, depression, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
