SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - National Drug Take Back day is Saturday, April 25 and many agencies are sharing ways you can dispose of unused and unwanted prescription bottles. The Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force and Compact will be at several locations in Shelby County from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They say anyone can bring unused or unwanted prescription medication and they will properly dispose of them. No questions will be asked.

A rare April Blizzard and an earthquake all on the same day

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) -More than 100 years ago, on April 9, 1918, two significant weather events happened in the Shenandoah Valley. The first was a blizzard, which started in the morning and then, about 9 p.m., an earthquake! According to weather records, snow started falling in the early morning hours of April 9th, with most of the snow melting as it fell during the day. The snow accumulated, though, overnight. All photos in this story were provided by the Shenandoah County library.

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - A rare cloud was spotted over Harrisonburg at sunset on Wednesday, February 25th. This is a Horseshoe vortex cloud. Horseshoe vortex!!! Spotted yesterday, Wednesday evening at sunset. This is a rare cloud and a nice capture if you ever see one.
