Know Before You Go: your re:Invent 2026 guide to managing cloud and AI spend
As the world is embracing AI at scale, those of you who manage the IT spend are facing a new puzzle. If the previous era of Cloud Financial Management (CFM) required IT and finance leaders to be bilingual across cloud and finance, the AI era adds new vocabulary and cost dimensions, such as tokens. Heard of this one? Just when you felt you had a handle on the total cost of ownership (TCO), it has expanded into the total cost of AI (TCA).
The admission neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio improves early prediction of poor functional outcome beyond the modified Rankin Scale in viral encephalitis: a cohort study
Abstract Background: The admission modified Rankin Scale (mRS) strongly predicts outcome in viral encephalitis (VE) but does not capture the systemic inflammatory response of severe disease. We tested whether the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) improves early prediction of poor functional outcome beyond the admission mRS. Methods: We studied 200 patients admitted with VE at a single center; the primary outcome was a poor functional outcome at discharge (mRS 3-6).

Abstract The present study investigated the role of the mammalian sterile 20-like kinase 1/dynamin-related protein 1 (MST1/Drp1) axis in regulating microglia pro-inflammatory activation during cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury (CIRI). An in vivo model of middle cerebral artery occlusion/reperfusion (MCAO/R) in rats and an in vitro oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) model in BV-2 microglial cells and primary microglia were established.
Label-free interferometry platform for drug response profiling of bioprinted tumor organoids at single-organoid resolution
Abstract Organoids have become mainstay tools for drug discovery and personalized medicine. High-throughput imaging readouts for drug screening of tumor organoids are of particular interest as organoid-level quantification of responses provides insights into heterogeneity, which is relevant for predicting therapeutic efficacy and anticipating emergence of resistance. However, screening extracellular matrix (ECM)-embedded organoids remains technically challenging.
MAGC-DTI: modality-shared space and adaptive gated interactive cross-attention for drug–target interaction prediction
Abstract Accurate drug–target interaction (DTI) prediction is crucial for drug repurposing and accelerating drug development. Although deep learning has advanced DTI prediction, existing methods struggle with two key challenges: (i) capturing complex hierarchical patterns in protein sequences, and (ii) enabling effective bidirectional information exchange between drug and protein modalities.

ZIC2 affects oral squamous cell carcinoma stemness by regulating glycerophosphocholine metabolism via LYPLA2
Abstract Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) is a common malignant tumor of the head and neck. Early-stage OSCC is primarily treated using surgery; advanced-stage OSCC is managed using a multidisciplinary approach, including surgery combined with adjuvant radiotherapy and chemotherapy. However, tumor recurrence and metastasis remain major challenges, with a 5-year survival rate of ~50%. Dysregulation of transcription factors is associated with the pathogenesis of various cancers.
Immunometabolic programming of macrophages and tumor-associated macrophages: metabolic pathways shaping polarization, immune regulation, and disease outcomes
Abstract Macrophages adapt to hanging tissue environments by rewiring cellular metabolism, and these metabolic programs actively instruct immune functions rather than merely supplying energy. Across health and disease, shifts in glycolysis, mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, lipid handling, and amino acid utilization shape macrophage polarization, inflammatory mediator production, antigen presentation, and interactions with lymphocytes.
