Winter Classic blog: Charlie Coyle
What a great experience. Being on both sides as a fan and player, I feel very lucky to have been a part of this, so I'll walk through the past 24 hours or so. After the family skate at Fenway yesterday, we went back to TD Garden and had food there, so everyone and their families were in one big room, kind of mingling. I left with my family after dinner, then we all stayed at a hotel last night. We had our team meetings at the hotel, where we also got those 1930s Red Sox uniforms.

I was told after our game Saturday (a 4-3 overtime loss to the Buffalo Sabres) that I had 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in December and nine (six goals, three assists) the previous two months combined. I didn't know that stat about my uptick in scoring. You want to contribute as much as you can, but I just try to focus on my overall game and being solid defensively. When you do that, you play more in the offensive zone, and then you want to be a factor there.

BarDown Staff Blades, The Mighty Quinn, Charlie Coyle , (via Twitter/Boston Bruins) Charlie Coyle’s year didn’t end quite how he wanted it to, falling in the Stanley Cup Final to the St. Louis Blues.
