Mechanistic insight into the dual phosphorylation of ERK1 and ERK2 by MEK1
Abstract Activation of ERK1 and ERK2 through MEK1 and MEK2-catalyzed phosphorylation of conserved tyrosine and threonine residues in the ERK1/2 activation loops is a key step in the RAS-RAF-MEK-ERK signaling cascade. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying MEK1/2-catalyzed ERK1/2 phosphorylation remain unclear. Here, we report the cryo-EM structures of phosphorylated MEK1 (pMEK1) bound to unphosphorylated ERK1/2 and monophosphorylated ERK1, together with a crosslinked pMEK1:ERK1 complex.
Study on the Triethanolamine-Induced Enhancement of Hot-Press Recycling Performance in an Epoxy Vitrimer System
1 Introduction Epoxy resins, by virtue of their outstanding electrical insulation properties, thermal stability, and mechanical strength, have been extensively employed in aerospace structural components, electronic packaging materials, and high-voltage electrical equipment, thus becoming an indispensable class of foundational materials [1-3].
Distributed formation tracking control for multiagent systems with quantisation via asynchronous event-triggered mechanism
This work focuses on the formation tracking control (FTC) problem for multi-agent systems (MASs) under quantised communication and an asynchronous event-triggered strategy (ASETS). First, to flexibly schedule the communication frequency and compress the communication data transmitted on each edge among agents, an ASETS and a logarithmic quantiser are integrated into the formation tracking protocol. The problem is then transformed into ensuring asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system.
Static oxidation damage and life prediction of Hastelloy X alloy for aeroengine applications
Static high-temperature oxidation tests at 1000 °C for 0–500 h were performed on Hastelloy X alloy. The microstructural evolution, oxide scale and Cr-depleted zone growth kinetics, as well as mechanical properties variations were systematically characterized. An exponential decay model was established to describe tensile strength degradation under medium-to-long term oxidation.
EU ETS carbon price forecasting via VMGE-Net: a variational decomposition and channel-aware GRU framework
Abstract Daily carbon prices in the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) exhibit non-stationarity, multi-scale fluctuations, and changes in market regimes, which complicate short-horizon forecasting. This study proposes VMGE-Net, a compact forecasting model that combines Variational Mode Decomposition (VMD), a Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) encoder, and Efficient Channel Attention (ECA).
Synergistic configurations of livelihood capital drive pastoralist well-being: evidence from Tibetan Plateau, China
Abstract Grassland governance has shifted from a primary focus on ecological restoration toward greater attention to pastoralists’ well-being. Against this background, subjective well-being (SWB) has become a core indicator for assessing livelihood outcomes in pastoral regions.
Angle- and field-tunable unidirectional zero reflection in an asymmetric single-defect atomic lattice
Based on spatial symmetry breaking, we propose a tunable unidirectional zero-reflection scheme in a one-dimensional single-defect atomic lattice. Reflection suppression stems from destructive interference between the direct-reflection and multiple-scattering components, whose amplitudes and phases are co-modulated by coherent atomic response, Bragg scattering, and structural asymmetry.
A knowledge-enhanced domain-aware large language model agent for atrial fibrillation management
Abstract Large language models (LLMs) show considerable potential for atrial fibrillation (AF) management, yet current clinical applications frequently remain suboptimal due to accuracy limitations. To address these limitations, this study developed PULSE (Potentiated User-friendly LLM-driven Search Engine), a novel knowledge-enhanced, domain-aware LLM agent specifically designed to improve AF patient self-management across the entire care continuum.
Efficient dynamic cooperative deployment and task scheduling in multi-UAV-assisted MEC for dense dynamic environments
Abstract With the rapid development of the Internet of Things (IoT) and mobile computing, edge computing has emerged as a promising paradigm for providing low-latency and energy-efficient services. However, in some extremely computation-intensive scenarios, conventional terrestrial edge computing may fail due to the insufficient computing capability of ground base stations. Fortunately, multi-UAV-assisted edge computing offers a promising solution to this challenge.

RNA codon expansion platform enables precise protein engineering in mammalian cells
To overcome the inherent challenge of translation termination interference caused by stop codon reprogramming in mammalian cells, researchers from Peking University led by Chen Peng from College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering and Yi Chengqi from School of Life Sciences have developed a novel codon expansion strategy that enables precise incorporation of noncanonical amino acids (ncAAs) without perturbing natural genetic codes.
Ubiquitous memory augmentation via mobile multimodal embedding system - Nature Communications
Abstract Forgetting is inevitable in human memory. Recently, multimodal embedding models have been proposed to vectorize multimodal reality into a unified embedding space. Once generated, these embeddings allow mobile users to quickly retrieve relevant information, effectively augmenting their memory. However, as the model’s capacity increases, its resource consumption also rises.

AI-guided chemistry enables on-demand protein activation in living mice
To address the challenge of controlling protein activation in living animals for gain-of-function studies, researchers from Peking University led by Professors Chen Peng and Wang Chu recently developed CAGE-Proxvivo, a computer-aided proximal decaging strategy for on-demand protein activation and modulation of protein–protein interactions in living mice. This work establishes a universal platform for time-resolved biological studies and on-demand therapeutic interventions in vivo.

Improved Honey Badger Algorithm Based on Elite Tangent Search and Differential Mutation with Applications in Fault Diagnosis
1. Introduction Electric motors are essential components in various industries, converting electrical energy into mechanical energy. Rolling bearings are critical for the smooth operation of many motor components, and their failure is one of the leading causes of motor malfunction. Bearing failures account for over 40% of motor faults [1,2], and if not detected early, can lead to severe consequences, such as prolonged downtime, financial losses, and even risks to human health and safety.

Generalized Reporter Score-based Enrichment Analysis for Omics Data
Abstract Enrichment analysis contextualizes biological features in pathways to facilitate a systematic understanding of high-dimensional data and is widely used in biomedical research. The emerging reporter score-based analysis (RSA) method shows more promising sensitivity, as it relies on p-values instead of raw values of features. However, RSA cannot be directly applied to multi-group experimental designs and is often misused due to the lack of a proper tool.

Dynamics and Embedded Solitons of Stochastic Quadratic and Cubic Nonlinear Susceptibilities with Multiplicative White Noise in the Itô Sense
Abstract : The main purpose of this paper is to study the dynamics and embedded solitons of stochastic quadratic and cubic nonlinear susceptibilities in the Itô sense, which can further help researchers understand the propagation of soliton nonlinear systems. Firstly, a two-dimensional dynamics system and its perturbation system are obtained by using a traveling wave transformation. Secondly, the phase portraits of the two-dimensional dynamics system are plotted.
