ITLN1 suppresses colorectal cancer progression by orchestrating neutrophil maturation and spatial organization
Abstract Epithelial-derived intelectin-1 (ITLN1) is frequently downregulated in colorectal cancer, but whether it actively shapes anti-tumor immunity remains unclear. We integrate multiplex immunohistochemistry, spatial analysis, single-cell transcriptomics, chromatin-accessibility profiling, and perturbation models to define how ITLN1 regulates neutrophil maturation and spatial anti-tumor immunity.

Three students, three summers of social change
TPIN | TPIN TPIN | TPIN The first PIRG campus chapter took root at the University of Oregon more than 50 years ago. It’s only fitting that University of Oregon students are still growing the movement by directing summer outreach campaigns across the country. I’m pleased to share an update from Dan Xie, the Student PIRGs’ political director, with the stories of three of these young leaders.
A universal visual foundation model for computational cytopathology
Abstract Cytopathology is central to cancer screening and diagnosis but remains labor-intensive, motivating the development of scalable computational solutions. Here, we present CROWN (Cytology visual foundation netwoRk Optimized With self-supervised learNing), a universal visual foundation model for computational cytopathology.
A clinically-oriented foundation model for intraoperative pathology
Abstract Intraoperative pathology is pivotal to precision surgery, yet its clinical impact is constrained by diagnostic complexity and the limited availability of high-quality frozen-section data. While computational pathology has made significant strides, the lack of large-scale, prospective validation has impeded its routine adoption in surgical workflows.
Creeping fig ( Ficus pumila L.) polysaccharides: a review of extraction methods, structural characteristics, biological activities, and emerging applications in medicine
Abstract Creeping fig (Ficus pumila L.) is a traditional plant with both edible and medicinal value, and its achenes can spontaneously form gels at room temperature. As important bioactive macromolecules in creeping fig, polysaccharides have attracted increasing attention due to their biological activities and unique gelling properties.
The failure mode and evolution process of geosynthetic reinforced embankments under rainfall
Abstract As global climate change continues, extreme rainfall events occur more frequently, exacerbating water-related damage to reinforced embankments. To solve this problem, 16 groups of reinforced embankment failure model tests were carried out using a self-developed model test device under multi-factor coupling, with rainfall intensity, gradient, and number of reinforcement layers used as variables.
ENO2 drives tumor cell-induced M2 macrophage polarization to promote colorectal cancer liver metastasis
Abstract Liver metastasis is the primary cause of mortality in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. To decipher the underlying mechanisms, we performed single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) on paired primary colorectal tumors, adjacent tissues and liver metastases from three CRC liver metastasis (CRLM) patients, alongside colorectal tumors and adjacent tissues from three non-metastatic CRC patients.
Lactate-mediated macrophage polarization promotes splenomegaly in acute erythroleukemia
Abstract Acute erythroleukemia (AEL) is a rare and highly aggressive subtype of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that is often accompanied by splenomegaly in some patients. Using the Friend murine leukemia virus clone 57 (F-MuLV clone 57) mouse model, we observed lactate accumulation in the spleens of mice with late-stage disease. Proteomic profiling indicated dysregulation of the glycolysis/gluconeogenesis pathway and aberrant activity of its key enzymes.
Synergistic Effects of Oxygen Vacancies and Metal-Support Interactions in Rare Earth Modified Cu-ZnO-Al2O3 Catalysts for CO2 Hydrogenation to Methanol
Synergistic Effects of Oxygen Vacancies and Metal-Support Interactions in Rare Earth Modified Cu-ZnO-Al2O3 Catalysts for CO2 Hydrogenation to Methanol The hydrogenation of CO2 to methanol is pivotal for carbon valorization and sustainable carbon cycle. However, conventional Cu-based catalysts are plagued by limited CO2 conversion and suboptimal methanol selectivity, which severely hinder their industrial application.
BTAF1: a key regulator of DNA end resection and predictor of chemotherapy sensitivity in gastric cancer
Abstract BTAF1, an ATP-dependent remodeler of the TBP-DNA complex, is frequently mutated in gastric cancer. However, its role in DNA repair and therapeutic relevance remains largely undefined. Here, we show that BTAF1 knockout leads to accumulation of double-strand breaks (DSBs) by impairing DNA end-resection process of homologous recombination (HR) repair, thereby sensitizing cells to genotoxic agents both in vitro and in vivo.

Ultra-wide spectrum photosynapse array with 64k-scale for neuromorphic fusion imaging - Nature Communications
Abstract Bio-inspired photosynapse hardware with wide spectrum information fusion imaging and neuromorphic processing is promising for complex environments perception. However, integrating ultra-wide spectrum responsivity within a single photosynapse device and scaling to a large array has remained challenging. Here, we demonstrate a 64k-scale (65,536 pixels) ultraviolet-to-mid-infrared photosynapse array based on carbon nanotube/molybdenum oxide heterojunctions.
Behavior‐based stratified management: population suppression and invasion front control of Hylurgus ligniperda (Fabricius) in coastal shelterbelt ecosystems
BACKGROUND The red-haired bark beetle (RHB), Hylurgus ligniperda (Fabricius), is a significant invasive pest responsible for widespread mortality in pine forests. Current control methods are largely ineffective and poorly integrated, failing to halt the spread of RHB. This study aimed to develop and validate an integrated management system that leverages the beetle's behavioral patterns and implements stratified management strategies based on the severity of infestation levels.

Switchgrass Steroidal Saponins Reduce Fungal Disease but Decrease Yeast Fermentation Yield
1 Introduction Over millions of years of coevolution, plants have accumulated a wide array of responses to microbial pathogens, including physical changes, immunological defense, and protective chemical compounds (Bednarek and Osbourn 2009; Jones and Dangl 2006). Each species' allocation to a particular type of defense is determined by a combination of factors: plant genetics, the particulars of each pathogen, and the environment.

1 Introduction As a key life support technology, mechanical ventilation (MV) has been widely utilized in intensive care units (ICUs) to effectively maintain the respiratory function of critically ill patients [1, 2]. However, prolonged MV can result in rapid diaphragmatic atrophy and contractile dysfunction, a condition collectively known as ventilator-induced diaphragmatic dysfunction (VIDD).
Phase separation of ERCC6L2–CtIP regulates the extent of DNA end resection - Nature Cell Biology
Abstract The ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) kinase orchestrates the early stages of DNA double-strand break repair by promoting hyperphosphorylation of CtIP, a key step in the initiation of DNA end resection. However, the regulatory mechanisms controlling resection extent remain incompletely understood. Here we identify ERCC6L2 as a key regulator of DNA end resection in response to ATM inhibition.
