A questionnaire-based model to prioritize additional support during HIV testing encounters among men who have sex with men: temporal and geographic external validation
Abstract Background: HIV sentinel surveillance collects behavioral and service-use information from men who have sex with men (MSM), but these data are mainly used for routine reporting. We assessed whether pre-test questionnaire data could help prioritize testing encounters for optional additional support. Methods: We conducted a retrospective prediction modeling study using de-identified MSM surveillance records.

Geriatric syndromes and intrinsic capacity in older adults with coronary heart disease: a cross-sectional study in China
|
Abstract Background: Geriatric syndromes (GS) are highly prevalent among community-dwelling older adults with self-reported physician-diagnosed coronary heart disease (CHD), but their association with intrinsic capacity (IC) remains poorly characterized. Methods: We analyzed cross-sectional data from 5,835 community-dwelling Chinese older adults with self-reported physician-diagnosed CHD (mean age 74.4 years; 65.8% women).

Global mapping of circRNA-target RNA interactions reveal P-body-mediated translational repression
Keywords circular RNA RNA-RNA interactions translational repression P-bodies granule RIC-seq RIC-seq RNA-binding protein Introduction Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are covalently closed RNA molecules generated primarily through pre-mRNA back-splicing, which joins a downstream splice donor to an upstream acceptor site to form a characteristic back-splicing junction (BSJ).1,2,3,4 This process gives rise to thousands of distinct circRNAs across diverse genes.5,6,7 Among these, a subset with high...
Power-tunable rotational dynamics of asymmetric vortex dipoles for material characterization
This study investigates the orbital angular momentum (OAM) and propagation dynamics of asymmetric vortex dipoles. The asymmetric spatial distribution of vortices carrying opposite topological charges yields a net OAM, inducing rotational motion during both linear and nonlinear propagation.
The clinical characteristics, mechanism and management of immune checkpoint inhibitor-related arthritis
1 Introduction Immunotherapy has ushered in a transformative era in cancer treatment. A prominent category of cancer immunotherapy is immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), which disrupt immune regulatory interactions to enhance T cell activation and elicit anti-tumor immune responses (1, 2). ICIs are employed across an ever-growing spectrum of tumor types.

Multi-omics integration reveals macrophage polarization and ferroptosis as key mechanisms underlying kaempferol’s therapeutic efficacy in peripheral artery disease
Abstract Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a chronic ischemic condition characterized by vascular occlusion and metabolic-immune dysregulation. To elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying PAD and the therapeutic effects of Kaempferol, we integrated bulk transcriptomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, network pharmacology, and experimental validation. Transcriptomic analysis identified 1,144 differentially expressed genes in PAD, highlighting extensive transcriptional remodeling.

Cryo-ET Analysis Unveils the Minimum Structural Unit and Hierarchical Ultrastructure of Silk Fibers in Silkworm and Spider
Abstract Silkworm silk and spider silk are renowned for their exceptional mechanical properties, with the toughness of spider dragline silk exceeding that of silkworm silk and even outperforming high-performance synthetic fibers such as Kevlar and nylon. The mechanical properties of silk fibers are determined by their ultrastructure, including the size, morphology, and arrangement of their fundamental structural units.
The Disaster Empire in The Wandering Earth 2

Exploring the relationships between pre-pregnancy BMI, gestational weight gain, and nutritional intake: a real-world investigation in Shandong, China
The health of a woman during pregnancy significantly influences the lifelong health of her newborn (Marshall et al., 2022), and her nutritional status is of paramount importance (Dhaded et al., 2020). While Chinese women are becoming increasingly aware of the importance of diet during pregnancy and food scarcity is no longer a prevalent issue, the quality of their diets remains a concern due to limited access to professional guidance (Abayomi et al., 2020).
