What was your first job as a journalist?
In the Maroon!
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Nope, but we have one in The Loyola Maroon's office. I hope to one day use one.
How is social media changing news?
It is becoming digital. TV and Print are merging into interactive digital content.\ Its where the young people are.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means holding power accountable. This is a big responsibility, and fairness is key to success.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email me first, you will always hear back. If its time sensitive, call me.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Slack, TriCaster, BlackMagic, and more.
Who do you wish followed you?
The entirety of my community. I do this simply for public service. We know we aren't in it for the money.
Why did you become a journalist?
I want to educate the public and show why we should care about certain topics such as the environment.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope. I got into this in college.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My recent package on non-unanimous juries was life-changing.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Be hungry. Be Open. Be Versatile. It is imperative that we are open to publishing media on all platforms and in all ways.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time. I'm free when you are.
What's your favorite drink?
Black cold brew or Paradise Park
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Working on small engines, in my garden, or in front of a camera doing T.V. News.

The New York Times
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
The environment beat is perceived as a bunch of activists, which is not the responsibility of writers. Learn to tell the whole story.
