3-year-old girl struck, killed by car after wandering into the street in the middle of the night

MANCHESTER, Conn. (WFSB/Gray News) - A 3-year-old girl was hit and killed by a car after wandering into the street in the middle of the night, according to police. The 3-year-old was hit around 4:35 a.m. Wednesday. She later died at the hospital. The driver who hit the girl stayed on the scene and is cooperating with police. The Connecticut Department of Children and Families had been actively investigating the girl’s family before her death based on two reports received on June 1 and June 5.
