Marion under boil water advisory as crews battle water main breaks

MARION, Ala. ( WSFA ) - A widespread water outage left taps dry across Marion on Wednesday morning, shutting down local schools and a medical clinic while prompting a systemwide boil water advisory. The outage began after a 10-inch water main broke near the Rice Creek area along Highway 14. Although municipal crews repaired the break and restored service to that section, officials soon discovered a second leak near Forest Hill Drive and Highway 5.
