Structural insights into Mitoguardin-1-mediated mitochondrial contact surfaces in fusion and lipid binding
Dear Editor, Mitochondrial fusion is essential for organelle homeostasis1,2 and is regulated by MFN1/2, Mito-PLD, and the Mitoguardin (MIGA) family3,4. MIGA proteins localize to the outer mitochondrial membrane5, where they have been implicated in mitochondrial fusion and lipid homeostasis through interactions with Mito-PLD and membrane contact sites6,7.
Anthropogenic environment and the burden of infectious gastrointestinal diseases in preschool children in Pacific Island countries, territories, and States: a narrative review
ABSTRACT Infectious gastrointestinal diseases (I-GID) remain a major global burden among preschool children, influenced by the anthropogenic environment (AE) where children live and play. In Pacific Island Countries, Territories, and States (PICTS), remoteness, extreme climates, and resource constraints exacerbate AE conditions that facilitate I-GID transmission, but the actual burden and key AE risk factors remain unclear.
GRP75-dependent SIMPA mediates inter-organellar quality control
Abstract Mitochondria are bound by a double membrane and are semiautonomous organelles, rendering them highly vulnerable to global and internal proteostatic stress1. Multiple surveillance mechanisms at proteostatic and inter-organellar levels have evolved to maintain mitochondrial integrity and cellular health2,3,4,5,6,7.

OMC-bench and AtomBit-OMC: task-aligned benchmarks and robust, interpretable machine-learned interatomic potentials for organic molecular crystals
Abstract Organic molecular crystals (OMCs) underpin key applications in pharmaceuticals and functional materials, but accurate atomistic simulation remains difficult because OMC stability depends on subtle noncovalent interactions, conformational flexibility, and polymorphism.
Quantitative analysis of dental prostheses materials on the magnitude of artefacts at different positions in cone-beam computed tomography: an ex vivo study
Abstract To evaluate the effect of crown materials for fixed prostheses on the image quality at different positions in Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). A customized virtual maxillary model with three fixed abutments and six recesses was designed and fabricated using 3D printing. Six cylindrical polypropylene tubes filled with a radiopaque contrast solution (K₂HPO₄) were inserted into the integrated recesses.

Intratumoral microbiota-host gene associations characterize stage-associated microecological patterns in colorectal cancer
Abstract Introduction: Intratumoral microbiota are emerging as important ecological components of the colorectal cancer (CRC) microenvironment. However, their stage–associated patterns and coordination with host gene expression remain poorly understood. This study aimed to characterize stage–associated associations between intratumoral microbiota and the host transcriptome in CRC.

Multi-objective optimization of low-noise pervious concrete using a stacking ensemble learning and NSGA-II approach
Abstract The inherent performance conflicts among the acoustic, mechanical, and hydraulic properties of pervious concrete represent a core obstacle to its application as a low-noise pavement material. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a multi-objective synergistic optimization method based on Stacking ensemble learning and the NSGA-II algorithm to proactively optimize mix proportions, thereby achieving a balance and enhancement of multiple performance metrics.

The value of speckle tracking echocardiography in early identification of subclinical cardiac involvement in patients with multiple myeloma: a pilot retrospective study
Abstract Introduction: Multiple myeloma (MM) is frequently associated with cardiac involvement, particularly myocardial amyloidosis. Current gold-standard diagnostic modalities include cardiac MRI, and endomyocardial biopsy. Speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) enables detection of subclinical left ventricular dysfunction prior to overt structural or functional deterioration.
Cardiomyocyte-derived GPX4 stabilizes BNIP3 to facilitate mitophagy and mitigate myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury
Abstract GPX4 is a crucial regulator of ferroptosis, yet its role in mitochondrial dysfunction during myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MI/RI) is unclear. This study aims to clarify the effect and molecular mechanisms of GPX4 in MI/RI. We analyzed the spatiotemporal dynamics of GPX4 during MI/RI and observed high expression levels in border and normal areas but a significant reduction in the ischemic region utilizing spatial transcriptomics, spatial proteomics, and single-cell sequencing.

(Xinhua/Li Ying) BEIJING, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Against the backdrop of a fragile global recovery and increasing uncertainties, the upcoming China-U.S. economic and trade talks in Paris carry added significance, with the world expecting the two sides to move toward each other and help bring greater stability to global trade and growth.
Optimizing Communication for Mixture-of-Experts Training with Hybrid Expert Parallel
In LLM training, Expert Parallel (EP) communication for hyperscale mixture-of-experts (MoE) models is challenging. EP communication is essentially all-to-all, but due to its dynamics and sparseness (only topk experts per AI token instead of all experts), it’s challenging to implement and optimize. This post details an efficient MoE EP communication solution, Hybrid-EP, and its use in the NVIDIA Megatron family of frameworks, on NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand and NVIDIA Spectrum-X Ethernet platforms.
