Ind. (WNDU) - Golden Tempo closed from 12 lengths back Saturday to win the 158th Belmont Stakes, the same move he pulled five weeks ago at the Kentucky Derby. Ridden by jockey Jose Ortiz, Golden Tempo surged from the back of the pack to win by a length and a quarter at odds of 6-1. Commandment was second and favorite Renegade placed third in the field of nine horses. Some thought Golden Tempo got lucky in the Kentucky Derby.

Blood shortage prompts South Bend Medical Foundation to seek donors

The foundation said blood cannot be manufactured, made on demand or ordered online, making donor participation critical to maintaining hospital supply. “During the summer, donations do drop a lot. Mishawaka summer concert series kicks off at Battell Park

MISHAWAKA, Ind. (WNDU) - The Mishawaka summer concert series kicked off Monday night at the Battell Park bandshell. The band ‘Hey Annie’ brought the classic rock and the crowd brought their lawn chairs. About 200 people turned out for the first show of the season. Vendors lined the park, dogs roamed the lawn and music filled the summer-like air. Barb Kepschul, a South Bend resident, said she has been coming to the concerts since they started. “We absolutely love these outdoor concerts,” Kepschul said.
