Study on the internal leakage pneumatic noise acoustic characteristics of spring-loaded full-lift safety valve
Abstract Safety valves are critical safety devices in pressure-bearing equipment used in the energy sector. Due to long-term erosion and wear by the medium, the sealing surfaces of their valve seats are prone to damage, which leads to internal leakage. This not only causes ineffective loss of energy medium and exacerbates the pressure on energy conservation and consumption reduction, but also poses a significant safety hazard, threatening the stable operation of the energy system.

Does the ICC Work? Legal Innovation and Political Constraints in Global Justice
The International Criminal Court (ICC) aims to end impunity for atrocity crimes, but its effectiveness faces persistent questions (Clarke 2019, pp. 1-3). Whether the ICC is “working” cannot be measured simply by counting its milestones, but rather by examining how its institutional design, political dependencies, and cognitive assumptions influence its practical operation. Despite its numerous innovations, the ICC remains constrained by political obstacles and flawed institutional design.

The interplay between homeostatic synaptic scaling and homeostatic structural plasticity maintains the robust firing rate of neural networks
eLife Assessment This valuable study combines experiments and modelling to advance our understanding of the nonlinear nature of homeostatic structural plasticity and its interaction with synaptic scaling. The methodology and findings are solid, although additional work is needed to better link models with experiments and support some of the conclusions drawn. This study will be of interest to theoretical and experimental neuroscientists working in homeostatic plasticity.

Beijing, Moscow key contributors to global governance
Intensifying unilateralism and bullying tactics by certain countries have significantly impacted international relations and the global governance system centered on the United Nations, undermined sustainable development, and is threatening global peace and development. Fortunately, China and Russia remain committed to upholding the UN-centered global governance system and international law-based world order.
Co‐Culture of Lactobacillus bulgaricus With Streptococcus thermophilus and Bifidobacterium Impact the Metabolism and Flavor of Fermented Milk
1 Introduction Bifidobacterium exhibits ideal probiotic traits, making it a staple in fermented milk (Jena and Choudhury 2023). However, Bifidobacterium undergoes heterotypic fermentation, which not only produces lactic acid but also generates metabolites like acetic acid (Chen 2021). This can result in flavors that are unacceptable to consumers and may also alter the texture of the fermented milk (Li et al. 2020).

Repetitive magnetic stimulation with iTBS600 induces persistent structural and functional plasticity in mouse organotypic slice cultures
Abstract Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is well-established for its ability to induce synaptic plasticity. However, its impact on structural and functional remodeling within stimulated networks remains not well-understood. To bridge the gap between cellular and network-level effects, we investigated plasticity mechanisms in entorhino-hippocampal tissue cultures subjected to a clinically approved 600-pulse intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS600) protocol.

This is part two of a series that uncovers coerced labor in community service programs as operated via the criminal legal system, a widely recognized engine of anti-Black structural racism and economic inequality. In this brief we survey labor protections in community service programs across the states, with a focus on the undermining of labor standards.
Resolving inconsistent effects of tDCS on learning using a homeostatic structural plasticity model
Abstract Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is increasingly used to modulate motor learning. Current polarity and intensity, electrode montage, and application before or during learning had mixed effects. Both Hebbian and homeostatic plasticity were proposed to account for the observed effects, but the explanatory power of these models is limited.
Akkermansia muciniphila Mediated the Preventive Effect of Disulfiram on Acute Liver Injury via PI3K/Akt Pathway
1 Introduction Acetaminophen (APAP) is commonly utilised as a nonprescription medication for alleviating fever and pain (Barbier-Torres et al. 2017). When taken internally at the recommended dose, it is considered as a reliable and potent antipyretic analgesic without significant adverse effects. However, prolonged or excessive utilisation may lead to severe acute liver injury (ALI), potentially culminating in liver failure (Chowdhury et al. 2020).
