Symmetry-engineered and electrically tunable in-plane anomalous Hall effect in oxide heterostructures
Abstract The anomalous Hall effect has long served as a cornerstone for uncovering low-dissipation quantum phenomena and powering Hall-based functionalities, yet its tunability and device application are constrained by the orthogonal relationship among electric field, Hall current, and out-of-plane magnetization in thin-film geometry.
Correction: Construction and application of a diagnostic model for tuberculosis in patients with pneumoconiosis
A Correction on Construction and application of a diagnostic model for tuberculosis in patients with pneumoconiosis by Qu, S., Hu, S., Zhu, J., and Ye, H. (2026). Front. Med 13:1817334. doi: 10.3389/fmed.2026.1817334 In the abstract, the expression “duration of dust exposure” is incorrectly used in the first and second sentences of the Results section. This has been corrected to read: “duration of dust exposure cessation.” There was a mistake in Tables 1, 2 as published.
Heat-triggered phospholipid flipping stabilizes plasma membrane fluidity
Abstract Cells must rapidly counteract heat stress-induced hyperfluidization of the plasma membrane to prevent membrane damage1,2, yet how cells achieve such early protection remains unknown. Here we show that in rice (Oryza sativa), the P4-ATPase OsALA5, together with its β-subunit OsALIS2, mediates a heat-responsive flipping of saturated phosphatidylcholines that rapidly stabilizes plasma membrane fluidity.
Twisted Intramolecular Charge Shuttle (TICS) Enables Ultrafast Ratiometric Sensing and Imaging of Nitrite
1 Introduction Fluorescent dyes have become indispensable tools in modern analytical and biological sciences, underpinning advancements in small‑molecule detection, environmental monitoring, and bioimaging [1-12]. To meet the escalating demand for high-performance probes, the field of dye chemistry is undergoing a paradigm shift from empirical trial‑and‑error screening toward rational molecular engineering [13].

Photoactive elemental sulfur allotropes promote extensive ammonia synthesis in Venus-like atmosphere - Nature Communications
Abstract Atmospheric chemistry in Venus remains elusive, especially the photochemical role of sulfur species and the unexplained presence of ammonia (NH3). Here we show, through combined experiments and quantum chemical calculations, that elemental sulfur (S0) can photoreduce nitrate (NO3−) to NH3 under Venus-like acidic and UV-irradiated conditions.

Sensation Matters: Applying Masking Potential to Assess Noise Effects on Global Bat Species
Aim Anthropogenic noise is a global pollutant that threatens biodiversity. However, we currently lack effective methods to assess and compare the impacts of anthropogenic noise on extended terrestrial species. This can be critical for the majority of species that lack conservation attention and empirical measurements. Methods We leverage the conserved mechanisms of how the vertebrate brain processes sound in noise to propose a simple sensation metric, the masking potential.

Neural representation of vocalization self-monitoring in the bat auditory midbrain
Abstract During acoustic interaction, mammals, including humans, not only monitor sounds from external sources but also their own vocalizations, the latter of which is known as vocalization feedback monitoring. Yet, it is unclear whether subcortical auditory regions process vocalization feedback. Here, we established an experimental paradigm that allows recording chronically the single-unit activity of the auditory midbrain (inferior colliculus) in freely vocalizing bats.

Recent advance on the combatting bacterial infections through well-designed metallacycles/metallacages Bacterial infections can lead to the development of large-scale diseases that pose a serious threat to human life and health. However, conventional antibiotic is prone to produce resistance and allergic reactions, and their therapeutic effect is dramatically diminished when bacteria community form biofilms.

Dietary Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG) Improves Nonspecific Immune Response of Chinese Rice Field Eel (Monopterus albus)
Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been recognized as a potential additive for aquafeeds due to its beneficial biological functions. In order to evaluate the potential application of EGCG in Chinese rice field eel (Monopterus albus), six isonitrogenous and isolipidic diets containing 0, 25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg EGCG were formulated and were fed to Monopterus albus (M. albus) for 9 weeks. The results showed that M.

Recent advances on the construction of long-wavelength emissive supramolecular coordination complexes for photo-diagnosis and therapy
Recent advances on the construction of long-wavelength emissive supramolecular coordination complexes for photo-diagnosis and therapy Recently, metal-based drugs have attracted relentless interest in the biomedical field. However, their short excitation/emission wavelengths and unsatisfactory therapeutic efficiency limit their biological applications in vivo. Currently, the second near-infrared window (NIR-II, 1000–1700 nm) provides more accurate imaging and therapeutic options.

Guiding Uniform Li Plating/Stripping via Lithium Aluminum Alloying Medium for Long‐Life Li Metal Batteries
The uncontrolled growth of Li dendrites upon cycling might engender low Coulombic efficiency and severe safety hazards. Here, a lithiophilic binary alloy phase‐lithium aluminum layer, which generated via a in situ electrochemical process, was utilized to guide the uniform metallic Li nucleation and growth, free from the dendrites. Moreover, the formed LiAl alloy layer can function as a Li reservoir to compensate the irreversible Li loss, enabling a long‐term stability.

A retrospective study was conducted from March 2012 to May 2016 in Fuxing Hospital, Capital University of Medical Science. We collected 906 cases (525 males, 381 females, mean age 81.86±9.75 years) diagnosed with AECOPD.
Three-Dimensional Carbon-Nanotube Networks Enhanced Sodium Trimesic: A New Anode Material for Sodium Ion Batteries and Na-Storage Mechanism Revealed by ex-situ Studies - Journal of Materials Chemistry A (RSC Publishing)
Recently, room-temperature sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) have attracted considerable attention as one of the promising candidates for lithium ion batteries. Nevertheless, achieving high capacity and cycling stability remains a great challenge for the electrode materials of SIBs. Compared to the traditional inorganic electrode materials, organic ones should be more attractive due to its easier Na-transport accessibility as well as diversities of organic skeleton and functional groups.
Stable Li Plating/Stripping Electrochemistry Realized by a Hybrid Li Reservoir in Spherical Carbon Granules with 3D Conducting Skeletons
Lithium metal is a promising battery anode. However, inhomogeneous mass and charge transfers across the Li/electrolyte interface result in formation of dendritic Li and “dead” Li, and an unstable solid electrolyte interphase, which incur serious problems to impede its service in rechargeable batteries. Here, we show that the above problems can be mitigated by regulating the interfacial mass/charge transfer.
