(WVLT) - Businesses continue to open along Tesla Boulevard in Alcoa, and city officials say the development is the result of decades of planning on land that once housed an industrial plant. Alcoa City Manager Bruce Applegate said the city purchased the former Alcoa West Plant site and has worked over the years to attract businesses there by offering infrastructure already in place.

Knox County School Board approves reduced budget, asks commission to reconsider 6% raise

(WVLT) - The Knox County School Board has approved a reduced budget following a loss of nearly $8 million in state and local funding, and has voted to ask the Knox County Commission to reconsider a 6% raise for county employees. County Commission directed $3.8 million of the nearly $8 million shortfall away from schools to fund the raise for county workers.
