STONE COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The recovery process is moving forward in Stone County after Thursday’s severe weather left several homes flooded and others nearly destroyed. Jeremy Reid just recently moved into his duplex in the Perkinston community. Early Friday afternoon, Reid was barely to get inside and survey the damage left behind by Tropical Storm Arthur. “It happened so quick,” said Reid.

PERRY COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - One family is without power in part of their home after a tree fell through their kitchen Thursday. Ashley Brown lives on Mary Bolton Loop in Beaumont and told WDAM 7 that lightning struck the tree in her backyard once in the morning before she left for work. Brown said her husband was able to put the fire out before it got serious.
