A gut microbial odd-chain fatty acid alleviates atherosclerosis in mice
Abstract The gut microbiota plays a pivotal part in human health, yet the molecular mechanisms that underlie its effects are largely unexplored. Bacteroides, a dominant genus in the human gut microbiota, is depleted in patients with atherosclerosis1, but its causal relationship with disease remains unclear. Here, using a mouse model, we show that administration of Bacteroides uniformis alleviates atherosclerosis through the upregulation of hepatic low-density lipoprotein receptor expression.

Hepatic sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase 3 promotes steatohepatitis by disrupting membrane sphingolipid metabolism
Main text (Cell Metabolism 37, 1–18.e1–e13; May 6, 2025) In the originally published version of this article, errors were identified in several figure panels. Copy-and-paste errors introduced during figure assembly in GraphPad Prism affected Figures 2C, S2E, S4H, S5H, and S6E. Data-entry errors also occurred when data were transferred into separate GraphPad Prism files for Figures S3E, 6G, 6I, 6P, and S6M, causing the plotted values to differ from the finalized datasets.
Construction and internal validation of a risk prediction model for rapid bone loss during aromatase inhibitor therapy
Abstract Purpose: To establish and validate a risk prediction model for identifying hormone receptor-positive breast cancer patients at high risk of aromatase inhibitor-associated rapid bone loss. Methods: This single-center retrospective study enrolled 247 patients receiving aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy between 2016 and 2025. Rapid bone loss, defined as an annual bone mineral density (BMD) loss rate greater than 4% at either the lumbar spine or total hip, was the primary outcome.
A conserved hexapeptide switch controls autoinhibition of plant cytosolic invertases
Abstract Cytosolic invertases (CINVs) are essential for plant sugar homeostasis, growth and development, yet their enzymatic regulation remains unclear. Here we show that land plant CINV enzymes are tightly autoinhibited via synergistic actions of their N- and C-termini on the central catalytic GH100 domain. A conserved C-terminal hexapeptide functions as a dual switch: an intrinsic ‘brake’ that inhibits GH100 and an ‘accelerator’ that recruits 14-3-3 activators upon phosphorylation.

Spatially defined IGF1R-STMN1 axis delineates a metastatic cell state in osteosarcoma
Abstract Metastatic osteosarcoma (OS) remains the leading cause of disease-related mortality, yet effective therapies are still lacking. Here, we integrated single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and functional assays to investigate signaling dependencies in OS metastasis. Single-cell analysis identified a distinct STMN1⁺ OS cell subpopulation enriched in metastatic samples with enhanced migratory capacity.
Integrated fiberized diamond magnetometer with high sensitivity and dynamic range by magnetic flux concentrators
Abstract Magnetometers based on nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamonds have been widely studied. With the use of purified diamond and magnetic flux concentrators (MFCs), the sensitivity of magnetic field measurement has been improved to the subpico-tesla level. However, diamond magnetometers face the challenge of achieving high sensing performance after integration.

Flexible infrared camouflage eutectic gallium-indium for thermoelectric energy harvesting
Abstract Integrated infrared camouflage materials capable of energy harvesting and sensing hold great potential for enhancing operational efficiency in military settings. A key challenge, however, lies in achieving such multifunctionality without complex fabrication processes. In this study, we address this issue by introducing eutectic gallium‑indium (EGaIn) as a versatile material that combines infrared camouflage with thermoelectric sensing.

Liquidity Asset Prices and Market Efficiency
Liquidity is of critical importance to the stability and the efficiency of financial markets. Shortages of liquidity has often been blamed for exacerbating and sustaining financial market crises such as the 1987 stock market crash and the 1998 near collapse of the Long Term Capital Management. Yet there is little consensus about exactly what liquidity is, what determines it, how it affects asset prices and welfare.

Spatial Biology and Organoid Technologies Reveal a Potential Therapy-Resistant Cancer Stem Cell Population in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma
Abstract Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains one of the deadliest malignancies with a 5-year survival rate of less than 10 percent. Chemotherapy is the current standard-of-care (SOC) for advanced PDAC; however, treatment resistance driven by a complex and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) limits its effectiveness. To address mechanisms of resistance, we studied cabozantinib (cabo), a multi-kinase inhibitor approved for several solid tumors.

Inverse Autocovariance Estimates
The notion of the inverse autocovariance function (iacf) for stationary time series was introduced by W. Cleveland in the 1970s who proposed two ways to estimate it: one way is to fit an autoregressive (AR) model to the data and use the fitted model's inverse autocovariance as the iacf estimator, and the other method is via a kernel-smoothed spectral density estimator.
